hypno toad 0 Posted August 2, 2007 I am going to start making movies with armed assault, so I was wondering... Could I just save a WMA file, and just type in some initialization code into the unit to make him say it? or do is it more complicated? If it is a complicated process, is there a init code I can type into the character to make his mouth move?
froggyluv 2136 Posted August 2, 2007 No the sound files are in ogg format. You'll have to d/l a converter to change the format over- than stick those ogg files in your mission/sound folder. Thats just for sounds and thats as far as I'll go. Lipspeak is a whole new element where you'll need a program like WavetoLip which I've never gotten to work Edit- Hey just got WavetoLip to work for the first time by switching from 32 bit to 16 bit
SouthSaturnDelta 1 Posted August 3, 2007 Hi guys, Â Â Â Ok - get your speech audio and transfer it to .ogg as above.I use 'Goldwave' as its funky. Get hold of wav2lip of OFP fame then place these 2 files speech.ogg and speech.lip into your mission folder in a file called 'sound'. Now you config the audio so that Arma can detect it in game. I'm at work just now,so I cant give you an example, but you need to make a file called 'description.ext' Will explain more later - and will get you sorted out mate. froggyluv 2136 Posted August 3, 2007 Hi SSD Yeah thanks i got everything working with Wav2Lip and am using Goldwav as well as Arma Edit which creates the description file by draging in OGG files. Wave2Lip is EXTREMELY picky about how the sound file is formatted taking only 16 bit;Mono files @44100. Really a blast to get soldiers speaking yet its really hard to get the volume loud enough- could this be due to me cheap microphone?
SouthSaturnDelta 1 Posted August 3, 2007 Good stuff Froggy. Â Its probably your mic thats the cause of the audio quality man - try to move the mic closer when you speak and maybe that will help. I dont think I'v ever used any of my own speech ingame for the same reason... If you need radio transmissions, Goldwave can generate the required pitch ect,and also merge real life radio ststic in the background too. Good luck with your project, SSD
=BFP=Cheetah 0 Posted August 4, 2007 This tutorial on The Editing Center might help you getting started. It was written a few years ago for OFP, but it is still the same stuff you have to do in ArmA.
