Kenbow 0 Posted July 21, 2007 I want to get into editing graphics in Arma. What is a good program (preferably free) that I can use to open and edit p3d files and paa files?

Kenbow 0 Posted July 22, 2007 try searching the WIKI first!http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/TexView_2 I did. Â I downloaded two programs that people said to use, and neither of them worked. Thanks for the link. Any suggestions on what to use for the p3d files? The TexView only opens the paa files.
Jackal326 1181 Posted July 22, 2007 TexView2 can't wont allow you to edit PAAs directly, merely view (and export them as TGA/PNG to edit in Photoshop) them as the name suggests. Oxygen (O2) can be used to edit P3Ds, but all of the models used in ArmA are Binarized (a form of optimisation used by BIS to improve game-performance, and as a side-effect prevents the models being edited). But you can still use O2 to create new models, and import models you have made in other 3d apps such as 3DS Max.
stock762 0 Posted July 23, 2007 You can also use Gatebuilder, It's basically the same thing as O2 except it has a projection section so you don't need to use buldozer to see what the result will look like textured. In the bottom right box it has the progress of what it will look like.
