Mod Folders

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I've downloaded BW@DVD 1.6, 1.73 (missions) and US@DVD 1.03 addons into my addon folder. I heard that having mod folders makes the game 'cleaner', so I put the three mods into their respective folders. Labelled :- @BW Mod 1.6, @BW Mod 1.73 & @US DVD in the OFP addons folder.

As seen here :-

Firstly I downloaded Kegety's launcher and added the three mods, as seen here :-

OFP-Problem2.jpg.xs.jpg

Whenever I join a server which has the BW Mod running it says I'm missing all the files that are found in my @BW Mod 1.6 even though they're all in there and I've ticked to allow the mod to run on the launcher!

Anyway I tried another option, to make a copy of the OFP shortcut and edit the executable by adding the -nosplash -mod=@BW Mod 1.6;@BW Mod 1.73 parameter. As so:-

OFP-Problem3.jpg.xs.jpg

Again I had the same problem where the server boots me off for not having the files; even though they're in the @BW Mod 1.6 folder!

I already posted (doing a search prior) for a relevant topic. Came upon the OFP Mod Selector - Release (link) and posted a slightly incongruent post. No answer thus far.

Any help is appreciated.

Cheers

The problem is that you put the folders

@BW Mod 1.6

@BW Mod 1.73

@US DVD

in

.\Operation Flashpoint\Addons\

So the game ignore them

You must put those 3 mod folders in

.\Operation Flashpoint\

directly :

It cant read it if its got spaces in, no matter where it is.

Cheers for the replies guys, and I will take note of the 'no spaces' rule thank you tounge2.gif

However I've done as you suggested and I still get the same problem that no server picks up my US & BW DVD files.

Just checking, in Kegety's where it says Mod directory name; is this the right input? :-

Also here's my new OFP directory layout :-

Inside your @USDVD mod folder, be sure to have created an "Addons" folder in which you have put all the addon pbo files

If you put all the pbo directly in

\Operation Flashpoint\@USDVD\

it can't work.

All your addons pbo files must be in

\Operation Flashpoint\@USDVD\Addons\

Same for your other @.... mod folders

Hello again,

Thanks for the reply

The addons suggestion helped!

For some reason when I try to play a US/BW mod game through Kegety's it won't register the folders I've created when the server scans your computer. However when I loaded the game with the edited executable in a seperate shortcut, it worked. So it must be something to do with how I've set up Kegety's.

@Topgun - I'm glad that you've found help for your problem and wish you luck. I can't really help you with Kegety's launcher because it's not my project, but from looking at the screens you gave it looks like everything is in order with the launcher. The only other thing it could be is that flashpoint hasn't written its configuration file yet, which i doubt because you ran it fine without the launcher. Try running it again. If that's the case then it would work after running it once more.  thumbs-up.gif

Now if you're having problems with my project, OFP Mod Selector, I could help you there. biggrin_o.gif

@Blazin - By convention it is not wise to use spaces in mod folder names. Otherwise, it is possible to load mod folders with spaces in its name if you know the short name of the directory. My launcher will work with mod folder names that have spaces, but if you want to know how to find the short name of a file or folder manually just launch the command interpreter by typing cmd in the run dialog and type < dir /x >. This’ll make dir display the short name and long name of files and folders. The short name is the one with the tildes in it and of course you use this name instead of the long name when using the '-mod=' parameter. For example, the long name "Program Files" would be expressed as "PROGRA~1" in short name.
