scubaman3D 0 Posted July 2, 2007 Well this is my first attempt ever at modeling in o2...as you can see. The bullets shoot out of the buttstock, 90o to the right of the player and it still needs to be scaled down more. In any case, is this problem caused by my config or is it oriented wrong in o2? Thanks
Panda-PL- 0 Posted July 2, 2007 Oriented wrong in O2. You also need certain selections in the memory LOD (ok, you need to add one first!. You have to check some other weapon addon in O2 - that's the fastest way to learn. Unpack some addon, like Skaven's pack or something, and open the models in Gate Builder (bulldozer has some problems with some of the newer textures). scubaman3D 0 Posted July 3, 2007 Thanks, that worked. The gun points the same way but now I need to figure out LODS. and when I rotated the texture in o2, it seems like the main body of the gun turned invisible all the sudden. Man and I still haven't figured out config editing yet.
Panda-PL- 0 Posted July 3, 2007 and when I rotated the texture in o2, it seems like the main body of the gun turned invisible all the sudden. You rotated what? Didn't know you can do that. Yes, you definitely need to figure out lods. Take some addon and browse trought them - 90% of time it is pretty obvious what the selections do.
scubaman3D 0 Posted July 4, 2007 sorry, sorry...I rotated the model, not the texture... I'll post up a progress picture if I make any
DaSquade 0 Posted July 7, 2007 Quote[/b] ]the gun turned invisible all the sudden Maybe wrong here, but smells you mirrored the gun in O2...Namely if you mirror stuff in O2 it will 'flip' the polys, so you need to select your model and press 'W' (reverse-flip). But somehow i think you didn't mirrored it as you would of needed to mirror it over the X and Y to simulate a 180° rotation and a dual mirror would of fixed the reversed faces by default. For the rest, like Panda[PL] suggested, learn out of existing (working) models.
