Why unjoinable (X'ed) 1.08 servers along joinable?

Hi,

I love a robust multiplayer community. It's not as fun to logon only to see sparsely populated servers. I like as many players as possible.

I was wondering why it seemed there were half of us on 1.08 servers that I could join (mine is the Atari ARMA: Combat Operations bought in the USA) and another half of unjoinable servers that indicate themselves as "1.08" yet they are X'ed-- if I try joining anyways it says "unrecognized version".

Anyone know what's up? Beta patch I don't know of?

Are you using mod folders?

Those servers may be using "equalModRequired=1".

Yes, I am using the FDF Sound Mod pack. Thanks! I should try it without that and see..

EDIT:

It did fix the problem. There is a "Launch with FDF Soundpack" and the normal launch shortcut and it works great with the normal launch.

looks like u dont need to "mod" FDF sounds.

Just move the 2 files in ur normal addons folder and dont use the mod.
