all we have in terms of machine guns are the 2 saws and the 50 cal. The .50 cal is not even realistic is is suposed to be on a low mounted tripod, not standing out in the open. I think it would be cool to have a realistic portable 30 or 50 cal operated by two men. And also we could use some better bunkers mad out of sand bags or somthing for machine gun emplacements.

How about an XM-214?

This gun was developed in the US but never got beyond the prototype stage. It could fire from 400 to 10,000 rpm and looked a lot like a vulcan or minigun.

I would alos like to see more international stuff, like SA80s or FAMAS, and more Harriers, Challengers, more British stuff.

Positive, I think the DE really rocks. But it would also be cool (and actually add something new to the game) if you could choose which version you would take (.357, .44, .50, scoped, gold/black ) and that would actually matter in terms of accuraccy, clip size, etc.

Uzi's wouldn't be hughely useful but I would like to see a machinegun that has a lower tripod.

Also what about that gun that fires a hundred bullets in one second. At least I think it was a hundred mabye it was more. That gun took out a light tank in one go.

I'd like to see the MG3 from HK. That would be soooo cool. First of all it did acctually exist in 1985, unlike many of the other suggestions. Second it has a higher rof than the PK and M60, and it sounds awesome. FRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!! It would be fun with a second MG man, to carry ammo, and help setting up. And a gun would be great, especially for the AT soldiers who doesn't normally carry rifles. The HKMP5 could be an alternative, but without the silencer.

IRL, a dismounted .50 BMG is manned by 3 men. One to carry the tri-pod, one to carry the body/breech block and one to carry the barrel. Ammo and spare parts and the cleaning kit are divided up among the three men.

The mount used in OFP is a 'pindle' mount. Realisticly, I don't see how a 3-man HMG crew can be implememted into OFP, it would require alot of work on BIS's part. However, I do agree that the .50 would be better off in a low mount, it would give the gunner better protection.

I saw a .50 cal MG operated this past weekend, it was mounted on its tripod and it was firing at a large cinder-block wall 200m away. After a few bursts the wall was knocked right over. Most of the cinder-blocks were broken into small chunks. The .50 BMG is quite an awesome weapon and I LOVE it's distinctive sound.

There are no SAWS in OFP (Squad Automatic Weapon System) 'SAWS' is an American term for an LMG (Light Machine Gun). If you are talking about the PK and the M-60, you should have said 'GPMG' (General Purpose Machine Gun)

There are 3 MG's that would be nice to have in OFP at the moment, the FN-MAG, the DsHK (Russian .50), and the FN-Minimi.

As for the pic:

That looks pretty good so far....allow me to nit-pick

1. The feed tray should be silver, not black.

2. The barrel is too thin.

3. The wood stock is nice, but it is missing a metal butt-plate.

4. There should be 4 vertical grooves on either side of the butt.
