TankCommander 3 Posted June 22, 2007 Does anyone know how to bypass the 'already installed' message so I can install Arma twice on my PC? I want to do this so that I can use 1.08 along with 1.05 which I play with my squad. I'm using two partitions if that makes any diff. Another solution maybe just copy my install directory...? But I don't really want a conflict with anything such as reg number etc =/ Cheers
maddogx 13 Posted June 22, 2007 Is the install location stored in the registry? I can't check right now because I'm at work. Have a look, if you know where to find it. If it is there, it would be possible to create two different ArmA folders and run each with a batch file that also calls a registry changer. I did this with Battlefield 2142 a while ago when I wanted to play an expansion beta alongside the normal game. It's perfectly safe.
TankCommander 3 Posted June 22, 2007 Thanx MadDog and if you mean registry by going into regedit and checking, I see the registry is in the install directory. You would need to go more in depth for me to understand how to achieve it tho. First step is installing it first (or copy and paste the game files?). So yeah if you can that would be great
Espectro (DayZ) 0 Posted June 22, 2007 rename your arma.exe Then you can install another instance of ArmA.
TankCommander 3 Posted June 22, 2007 No that didn't work unfortunately. Tried moving the .exe too but no luck. I'm going to try and copy the game to my other drive and updating it with 1.08 but same time I doubt that will work and even if so, it wouldn't run in multiplayer... Mr_Tea 0 Posted June 22, 2007 I have two installations of ArmA, but each one under another OS installed on one PC.
F-16 0 Posted June 22, 2007 we do this with Wings over Vietnam all the time. Just rename the main arma folder you find after you are in Program files to something else and install again NOTE: you will have to redo your shortcuts as this messes up the filepath for them and the installer/uninstaller to make it think it does not exist.
