Minuteman 0 Posted June 22, 2007 Any of you using addons? If you have some modifications installed, this error could be very well about having an old dta\bin.pbo file in some mod(folder) etc. All of my addons were unactivated (\AddOns\@some_addon\addons), but I took them out of the AddOns folder to be sure. No difference, I'm afraid. I had this problem once before, I recall. I think the 1.07 beta fixed it though I can't be certain what did exactly.
Totala 0 Posted June 22, 2007 Quote[/b] ]Hello. Thank you for your email. Yes, we know that the problem is occurring since the 1.08 patch. Our development team is working hard on getting this resolved. I really whish i could tell you an exact date,  when this is resolved, but this is a very tricky error, which consists of many parts. The team could already find and eliminate one of those errors,  but for the other ones, more time is needed. I can just beg you for a little more patience, we will contact you as soon as this is done.  Thank you for your ongoing cooperation and patience. Best regards,  SecuROM Support Team At least I got an answer ... howver I won't be playing ArmA this evening once again  Thank you for your post Maruk  Update : I have just tried the latest 505 exe (Maruk's link) and it solved MY problem Total, I have tried 4 exe : - original 1.08 (BIS) : 10612 Kb - exe1 from securom : 10572 Kb - exe 2 from securom : 10596 kb - exe 3 from securom : 10428 kb : working one, finally

Im at my wits end with this. unless I hear something concrete on current error im having im just gonna give up on this game or at least give up on trying to update it. Could you right click the ArmA.exe file and choose "properties" then on the version tab, could you copy me the exact version number? Also, please let me know the exact size in bytes of your dta\bin.pbo Btw, "Clean Install", did that include deleting the ArmA folder from harddrive after Uninstalling and thus before re installing? No CRC errors during patching?
hpsfface 0 Posted June 22, 2007 I have the pixel shader error also now on both Vista and XP with the Atari version. Clean installs on both operating systems. This is incredibly absurd. Arma.exe 1.6.0.5151 and it still says Product version 1.06 modified 5/9/2007 (US date format) bin.pbo = 1.98 MB (2,082,970 bytes) size on disk=1.98 MB (2,084,864 bytes) in XP and Vista < that is if you open properties, the 'details' about the file if you just have the dta folder open says 2,035 KB. And no, I didn't uninstall, delete everything and then install again and repatch and then substitute this new .EXE. Why would that work since we are just throwing a new executable into the folder? If it did anything other than launch the game, I could see a point. I've uninstalled this damn game just about enough since trying to patch it to 1.08 and untill some other person confirms they get it working, I'm not doing another thing. Yea, the new .exe version says 1.6.0.5151 (which seems a bit odd) the bin is 1.98 MB (2,082,970 bytes) yea the clean install was deleting everything arma related and i had no errors during patching
Maddog011 0 Posted June 22, 2007 This is old original DVD 1.06 ATARI version exe. How we are supposed to use this for 1.08 Absurd......... 1.06 version run without flaws why did they mess with that one?
maruk 80 Posted June 22, 2007 ArmA Exe 1.08 should be used with ArmA data 1.08 and ArmA Exe 1.06 with ArmA data 1.06. And apparently, the link provided by Securom is a link to Atari 1.06 exe which is no good to fix version 1.08 of the exe. Note that their fixed European exe is really at version 1.08. I verified and reported this problem to them already.

Why would that work since we are just throwing a new executable into the folder? If it did anything other than launch the game, I could see a point.I asked it because it would be possible that when uninstalling, Mod folders remain. Then when reinstalling, and running the game again maybe from an old desktop shortcut, possibly with the modfolder specified still, and hence getting the error. I was basicly ruling out all possibilities. But the problem was found; Either a mistake at SecuRom or the harvested link was from someone that had issues with 1.06 and got a fixed version, though thats unlikely
hpsfface 0 Posted June 22, 2007 I just hope I can play this again at some point today. Gotta think its just a mix up and there IS a working .exe for us atari people and they just have to fix the link.
Maddog011 0 Posted June 22, 2007 1.06 version run without flaws again for everybody. No one is complaining about 1.06 the best of the best. I bet someone lunched analysis for 1.06 and sent them log instead running for 1.08.....smart one did that.......
aliengmr 0 Posted June 22, 2007 /sigh Im clinging to my last bit of hope dear god please say this wont happen to the next patch, assuming there is one

I mean think of what people who will buy the game for the first time will have to do. Are they going to have to search for these links to new exe files on this forum? heliosjet 0 Posted June 22, 2007 the latest securom fix released today JUNE 22 works for the European DVD version (!! At last! Thanks securom. *Updating first post.
Minuteman 0 Posted June 22, 2007 You're a pal Maruk. :) I'm figuring, for the 1.08 fix, it was a naming problem and they'll have it pointed to the right .exe sometime today. We can hope!
linuxkrn 0 Posted June 22, 2007 1.06 version run without flaws again for everybody. No one is complaining about 1.06 the best of the best. I bet someone lunched analysis for 1.06 and sent them log instead running for 1.08.....smart one did that....... While your point seems to be the failure to launch, I have tons of problems with 1.06 crashing. It does run, but within 1-2 hours it crashes. Sometimes sooner. This sucks as everyone with the Atari 1.08 are still out in the cold.
jdski 0 Posted June 22, 2007 I'm confused as to which problem people are reffering to in this thread. It seems there are at least a few different problems listed now, but people aren't always mentioning which problem they are having or had, which was fixed or not, and what these alternative .exe's are meant to fix etc. I'm still looking for a fix for the securom 7001 error. This whole thing seems really quite a mess.

Electricleash 133 Posted June 22, 2007 Well I can finally say that i have 1.08 working on the 505 UK version. Congrats to the community for it's persistence, and Maruk for bearing along with us. I hope the Atari version and the various other issues come up trumps soon. E
Totala 0 Posted June 22, 2007 Tried the latest exe file pointed out by Maruk, and it worked fine for over 2 hours of multiplayer gaming
jdski 0 Posted June 22, 2007 This is the Patch 1.08 doesn't boot thread.... That's right. Which means it will contain more then just one specific problem. So it would be helpfull if people would mention which problem they are reffering to in thier posts so people don't go though the steps of possible fixes that are for an entire diffent problem all together.
