cossacks : the art of wars

this game is so cool , it kills age of empires 1 and 2

8000 units at the same time

you acn have some maps 16 times larger than in cossacks : european wars

art of war adds 2 nations and 6 new battleships (the admiral nelson's "victory" , the french "flora")

it changes the gameplay a lot

the IA is way better , the difficulty is better adjusted

the campaigns are very good

the editor is simple to use (less than the ofp one but it's still very good)

the multyplay is way better :

the international ranking

new mp options

etc ........

already a mod wich add or replace 30 units with realistic uniforms and characteristic + three new artillery types

more gameplay changes

a must for all the strategy fans

here are the full art of war specs (aow is the addon of european wars)

1. Six new ships: 18-century Ship of the Line, 18-century Frigate, Ketch, Cutter, Turkish Yacht, Galleass.

2. Two new unique Prussian units: 18-century infantryman, Prussian Hussar.

3. Two new nations: Bavaria and Denmark (each one has its unique architecture and 1 unique unit).

4. Five new Campaigns: Prussia, Austria, Saxony, Algeria, Poland (30 missions).

5. Four levels of difficulty for Campaign missions.

6. 6 new Single Missions;

7. 6 new Historical Battles;

8. 6 new buildings for missions;

9. An option of game saving into a file for further replaying.

10. Ability to play jointly with computer + via network + alliances;

11. Several new types of formations;

12. Map & Mission editors;

13. Timer;

14. Mixed type of map landscape;

15. Formations can be built when several officers are outlined;

16. Possibility to select a number of units in a formation;

I thought the cossack was okay I quite liked making the Britsih and the French have big battles. Nothing like killing 4 thousand french men as they charge me on a hill with all my cannons and cossacks ready to kill them. biggrin.gif

Yep then watching my 500 hundered musketers take out out the 1 thousand you have left after you destryed my 5 guns and 20 cossacks smile.gif

no , the english musketeer are very ....... normal

a french royal musketeer is member of the cavalry , he can destroy everything with one shot

20 cossacks can't defeat 4000 units (french , english , spanish or any other nationality ) at leats they can kill 10 foot soldiers , but the cossacks are one of the weakest units of the game , they are the fastest but their blade can't do anything against a high-tech silex muskeet with a bayonnet

if you want to take out 4000 men , build about 100 ribeaudequins , and defend them with a high silled musketeer type (austrian pandur , french chasseur ......) and some close combat units (grenadier or 17th c pikeman )

but this defence is not a problem if you use a rapid cavalry force (hussards mixed with cuirrassiers)

don't underate cossacks 500 quickly produced cossacks one me a battle with my counter attack. I like grenideers they kick ass. And i seen about 200 musketers in a line formation whip the ass of about 150 french royal musketer no problem

depends ........... if the normal musketeers are totally updated , they can whipe 150 royal musketeer out

but if the royal musketeers are totally upgraded , they totally destroy the musketeers
