Olegdr 0 Posted May 19, 2007 I understand the the story in the original Armed Assault was told by cutscenes showing news reports etc'... However having bought the U.S. version (Combat Operations) i have to listen to foul mouthed Pvt. Whatever. My question is is there any way to restore the original cutscenes to the U.S. version? If my question violates the "no reverse engineering" rule i apologise, but IMHO the changing of the cutscenes wasn't a good idea.
goodguyswearblack9 0 Posted May 19, 2007 I'm wondering if that reporter skin is even in the game; the T.V. studio still is.
Snake Man 407 Posted May 19, 2007 having bought the U.S. version (Combat Operations) i have to listen to foul mouthed Pvt. As I played the 505 version of the campaign through, there was no cursing and foul language. Are you telling me that in the US version there is alot of heavy language involved? Do you have like examples? If thats the case, I would surely want to have US version campaign, not because of the foul language, but because its new content to me
Jackal326 1181 Posted May 19, 2007 Well, from what I've played of the UK campaign, there is a lot of swearing in the cutscenes (not necessarily "a lot" actually, but there is some). From what I've heard from talking to a few Americans in the squad I'm a part of, there is no addition swearing in the US version compared to the 505 UK release. Olegdr 0 Posted May 19, 2007 The missions are the same, it's only the cutscenes between them that are different. Basically all you see is some pictures of soldiers with a guy narrating the story.

Thankfully I only use headphones when I play the game at home.
frostwyrm333 1 Posted May 20, 2007 Hmm... im interested in both versions of cutscenes, could somebody upload it on youtube?
CanadianTerror 0 Posted May 20, 2007 Im glad my kid wasnt nearby when the guy said BUTTF**K during a cutscene. That was a pleasant suprise.
84TurboFour 0 Posted May 20, 2007 The F-Bomb is droped a lot in the US ver. but not so much to make it anoying. In that perticular situation, its how I would have talked in a personal journal or a letter to my brother or something. Honestly I was rather dissapointed with the "Cutscenes" in US ArmA, I was expecting some In-Engine vids like in OFP, thouse were great. That and the Campaign was WAY too short, but thats another thread intierly.
goodguyswearblack9 0 Posted May 26, 2007 I'm guessing we missed out on the studio cutscenes which is disappointing because it is still in the editor.
