Cheats for Multiplayer

Recommended Posts

Correct me if I'm wrong, but most "trainners" and cheat codes will ONLY work in single player of just about any game and NOT multiplayer. I.E say you want to have unlimited ammo or god mode in RTCW, it will only work in the single player missions and not in multiplayer.

What i've noticed is really odd. I heard a lot about ppl cheating in multiplayer for OPF so I wanted to first hand see if you could actually cheat and what to look for if someone is cheating. So I downloaded "trainner" for OPF to test if you could use it in MP. I logged onto a server that had no one playing, started a quick game by myself and once I was in the game, I activated the "trainner". I was extremely surprised to find that the "trainner" works in multiplayer and it gives you unlimited ammo and rapid fire.

What really bugs me is how easy this cheat works. I mean for most games, cheat codes and "trainners" don't work for the multiplayer version of the game, ONLY single player. Not to dis BIS or anything, but I think their game code is a tad too easy to manipulate. I mean the "trainners" work for both single player and multiplayer.

A lot of game developers spend a sh*t load of time and coding to make cheating in multiplayer impossible. Maybe BIS didn't look to closely at it or it wasn't a big concern for them. But at any rate, I feel that BIS needs to do something about this and fast. Hopefully in the next patch/upgrade they can make these so called cheats and "trainners" not work in multiplayer. Or have on the screen that " so-and-so if a big fat cheater" and have it blink on everyones screen smile.gif

If you want to cheat in single player mode, thats fine. I mean the game can be quite challenging and the AI is quite good. And the only people your unfair to is the AI. But please don't cheat in muliplayer, it ruins the game for everyone. Maybe you have to boost your ego or your jealous of other players, or plainly you suck so bad in muliplayer that you feel you have to cheat to make yourself feel better about yourself. If this is the case then your a sore loser. Grow up and swollow your pride and face being killed.

Here are the typically signs for people cheating in multiplayer for you admins:

Multiple TOWs and LAWs being launched extremely rapidly without reolading. Never having to reload, TOWs and LAWs.

Some people haved stated that a few people haven't had to reload their guns. But remember, in some MP maps you can carry 9 clips of ammo for a G36 or M16. Thats a lot of ammo, especially if you conserve your ammo carefully and only take shots when you know you will hit your target.

Any hoo thats my two cents

Two things:

1. MP cheats and trainers are out for tons of the most popular games. DF2 is a good example of an online community ruined by cheaters.

2. You should email to BIS the cheat file, with a reference to this thread's URL.

No... CounterStrike was ruined by cheating. There are more cheats available than there are people playing the game. ('nuff said) wink.gif

you have to remember that MP is VERY much like SP in OPF; it was ORIGINALLY an SP only game (remember!) so obviously they werent thinking about MP that much until later on. I remember initially hearing OPF was suposed to have no internet MP (only LAN...thats what i heard). when you think about it most commands in OPF arent player specific; for instance the radio. stuff like that is the evidence that they were thinking SP before MP (which everyone knows)

Rogue2020,

If you want the "trainners" email me and I will send you them. I don't want to post where to get them because I don't want Newbs to use them and cheat in MP. I want to deter people from cheating in MP as much as possible. Its bad enough as it is right now.....

my email address is no_pulse@hotmail.com

Nopulse, you just increased the cheating. Good work. Issues like this should be kept private and emailed directly to the developers. Not spammed over the forums so everyone will download it.

actually, good work nopulse, there is more of a chance some1 will pick this up & it will go to the top of BIS, nopulse even thought out his/her post b4 making it & made a stance about no posting it.

b.t.w. won't these "trainers" activate FADE, i won't to add commands to my .exe but i'm worried it will result in FADE activation.

The best action to take is to email the trainers to BIS and NOT to send them to Rogues or other players. The last thing you need to do is to increase proliferation of the trainer in the player community.

BIS has already commented in the past that they actively want to obtain copies of such programs so that they can attempt to thwart them in upcoming patches.

Trainers will unfortunately most likely not activate FADE, IMO.

FYI How do you think I found out about these trainers? All I did was searched on Google or AltaVista.   I even have saw them on web sites that post cheats etc to games.  Its very naive to think that people only find cheats in this forum.  I bet they just do a search on the web like I have to find them.

Thank you second_draw, at least you read inbetween the lines and understood what I wrote and why I wrote it.

theavonlady,

Sure they can thwart the current trainer(s) in an upcoming patch like 1.43 or something, but once that patch is out, you can bet that there will be a trainer for version 1.43 within a week or so.  It never fails.  What BIS needs to do is some how make a script/code that thwart trainers in MP altogether, not matter what version of the trainer it is.  A simple script that when you log onto a server in MP, it detects .exe trainers running in the background and boots you out of the game.  Or notifies the admin(s) of the server that so and so is running a trainer/cheat.  Or the best way is that it simply disables the trainer running in the background.

But what makes these trainers so easy to use in MP is the code.  In MOHAA or RTCW the codes or trainers ONLY work in single player, NOT MP.  Even in CS I bet it wasn't as easy to make a MP cheat as it is in OPF.  Its BIS's code.  It must have been too easy to crack in order to make cheats work for both MP and SP.

I've heard conflicting arguements about trainers causing FADE.  A lot of people have stated that it does.

Your assumptions are off. Both MOH and RTCW just recently came out. There was no trainer for OFP MP either in its first months.

Wait another 2-3 months and MOH and RTCW MP will be full of cheaters until their devlopers, too, have to add anti-cheat code into their software.

There is no 100 solution to stopping trainers for any game out today.

Stopping trainers is ongoing work, similar to anti-virus development. BIS has stated that they can't guarantee thwarting trainers but they're willing to give it a try if you send them in the details and files.

Oh that's just great and destroy us who like to cheat in single player and don't give a flying fuck about multiplayer......guess it's the same with the laws...oh yeah sure all good for the type that voted for it then you fucked over the lives of 500 million people......but eh who cares your happy right?. mad.gif

MOH is already full of cheaters....the in-game cheats work in multiplayer....they fixed it in 1.1 but not everybody runs it.....

?.....Then what the hell are you worried about? This whole thread is about MP cheaters, no one is trying to stop SP cheaters.

(Though IMHO, if you get off on not having to reload, having enemy bullets bouncing harmlessly off your body & generally pulling a Rambo, there are much better games out there for you....namely just about any traditional First Person Shooter)

Well, it's not that they didn't think about it. Nevertheless, I do remember an article that came out where BIS downplayed the significance of MP versus OFP's SP potential.

I dont actively search for ofp cheats. The first place I heard about these trainers is this post right here. So I for one now know they exist. I'm sure there are others who read posts like this and go and directly download and use the trainers, youve got one guy in this post alone who is asking for the trainers and you're offering to email them. What possible benefit would that have to OFP developers.

You need to learn to keep quiet and go to the developers directly.

Leaning back in chair, and in best Arnold voice, saying, "Yeah, count me in"

So here's my anti up....

1. A few folk have stated or implied that we shouldn't be talking about Trainers in this forum because it's spreading awareness of their existence.  You can't be serious!

2. A few folk reckon they heard about trainers for the first time in this forum.  *Ahem*  Please refer to 1. above.

3. Some have defended the "right" of people to use any cheats they want in single player.  Regardless of your personal opinion of the matter, what a person does in the privacy of their own computer room is their own business.

4. Some have attacked the use of cheats in a Multiplayer scenario.  I used to be an avid Tribes player, for almost a year I haven't played at all because of cheats (and yeah, Team Killers).  I think most of us will agree (at least in public) that MP cheating completely destroys the enjoyment of playing a game, BUT everyone needs to think about what you can actually do about it, including...

5. Game developers coding to prevent cheating.  I was amused as TheAvonLady broached the subject, did a neat little pirouette, and really said nothing (very politic of you).  The fact is, skilled hackers can, and will, break anything they can get their hands on.  If it runs on your machine, a cheat is possible.  The only place developers have a chance is on server-side protection, because that defeats the previous definition; i.e., the hackers can't get their hands on it.  That only means cracking is not guaranteed, but it is still very likely over time.

Conclusion

Let's see, if we can trace the MP hackers, go to their house and beat the crap out of them, well, that might stop cheating, but also lands us in jail.

Legal action? *ROFLMAO*

What's left?  I suppose the ball's squarely in the developer's court.

Well, I'm not disagreeing with you. It's just that in the case of OFP, with patches coming out frequently, BIS has the opportunity to change some of the code fingerprints that previous hacks identified.

By analyzing the trainer's method of hacking, if BIS is willing to invest time in outflanking the hack, there are various things that can be done. I'm sure that BIS keeps in mind that TIME=MONEY, however. As such, the hackers indeed usually win out in the not-too-long run, as you yourself said.

What are you calling me a liar man? I told you this post is the first time I've heard about these ammo hacks for ofp. This post right here to be exact. The same thing happens with every game.

1 a cheat is created and the creator circulates it to close friends.

2 the cheat spreads through game hack forums and clans

although it is still relatively unknown to the mainstream gamer.

3 the cheat is found by a certain person, and said person, feeling like they are doing something positive, spams every single forum they can find talking about a new cheat and how it must be stopped.

4 Mainstream gamer Joe smith reads the post and immediately goes to his search engine and finds the new cheat and uses it.

THAT is how it works.

Tell me that isnt how it works, please.

Seems fairly accurate to me, you just add to number 1 that the person who makes the cheat submits it to a site that hosts them so he feels l33t wink.gif
