Silverfox01 0 Posted April 11, 2007 Under WinXP and Vista, ArmA shows an extreme mouse delay when framerate goes under ~35fps I can't understand why BIS don't fix this problem! Therefore it is very hard to aim at somebody when standing in a forest or a big city. The only solution for this problem is changing the "Render frames ahead" value in the video drivers from "3" to "0" So every time I start/end ArmA I have to change this value Please BIS if it is possible...fix this 'bug'
Cormega 0 Posted April 11, 2007 This is one of the first things everyone new to the game says. Obviously it's a major bug! I find myself getting killed because the mouse lag has to play "catch-up" with what I'm seeing. It seems (IMHO) that there are ALOT of unneccesary object in the game like bugs, flys and butterflies (who cares?), also the road markers (reflecters). Couldn't you do away with all this stuff to help with the massive lag on people with "not so new" computers? LAG
Maddmatt 1 Posted April 11, 2007 Change "frames to render ahead" in Nvidia or something flip que in ATI cards to 0 or 1 in video card settings or Rivatuner. Blame the idiots at ATI/Nvidia who thought 3 should be the default value.

LAG what do you mean by not so new pc's??? specs? personally i think the wildlife/butterflies add to the emersion!
Silverfox01 0 Posted April 11, 2007 @Maddmatt Changing the "frames to render ahead" to a level lower than 3 can cause performance decrease in some games
Cormega 0 Posted April 11, 2007 what do you mean by not so new pc's??? specs?personally i think the wildlife/butterflies add to the emersion! Â Yeah exactly. Not everyone has the latest hardware! Thats cool about your opinion on the "butterflies", I just disagree! If they and the road reflecters add to the lag then I'm of the opinion they should go away! If they don't then they don't bother me, just considering the lag. As for the "Frames rendered ahead" tweak, is it really worth it? Is there considerable performance increase? NeMeSiS 11 Posted April 11, 2007 @MaddmattChanging the "frames to render ahead" to a level lower than 3 can cause performance decrease in some games And setting it to higher then 1/0 can cause mouse lag in other games... Your decision. (I just tested it, and it barely made a difference, i prefer a game without mouse lag and i turned this to 0 after the first 2 minutes of playing when i just got the game)
