33Strike 0 Posted April 8, 2007 Hey, a friend of mine just got ArmA and patched it up. When he tries to run it, it works perfectly. But once he clicks Multiplayer, it makes everything crash. He can still hear me over Ventrilo, and move his mouse around, but alt+F4 and ctrl+alt+delete do not work. The only option for him is to reboot. Anyone else have this issue? Nforce firewalls seem to fight with ARMA. has he got a nforce mobo? if so get him to diable it and use windows firewall. thats how i fixed it
daanvs 0 Posted April 9, 2007 I have the same problem, no nforce.. no idea what's going on
hoz 0 Posted April 9, 2007 Was it working previously? Try this solution if it was.
Jack-UK 0 Posted April 9, 2007 Also make sure you DONT have Kapersky AV running, i know people who have had serious problems with that. Make sure ArmA is also accepted on all firewalls, for example Zone Alarm will give you a popup and minimize the game with just a black screen visible, but you can click on the balloon in the bottom right still.. even though it is not visible. Devastador 0 Posted April 9, 2007 My problem is similar, enters the option to multiplayer, selects host and when attempt to connect is closed suddenly and I appear in the desktop, some suggestion? THX !!!!
daanvs 0 Posted April 9, 2007 yeah I was suspecting it was blocked by something but I didn't have any firewalls installed and windows vista firewall was disabled as well. I then enabled windows firewall and it worked again... no clue why.
ck-claw 1 Posted April 9, 2007 Have to agree with jack! sometimes i disable Zone-alarm,but for some silly reason when you start Arma - in the background Zone-alarm still pops up the (allow box),but you cant see it so arma just hangs!!
Jack-UK 0 Posted April 9, 2007 Yup, it has an interesting feature too... you can go into 'Game Mode' and it will automatically allow all requests when enabled. Enable it, start a game, close arma, disable game mode and restart ArmA and it should be configured correctly
ck-claw 1 Posted April 10, 2007 Ah nice one!,did see that feature but never looked at what it did!
