johnny vet boy b 0 Posted April 4, 2007 When I die it would be interesting to be able to move the camera around and look at the battle as it continues instead of the constant slow pan around my corpse - is this possible? Yes, I have searched but to no avail. Cheers Johnny
EricM 0 Posted April 4, 2007 In MP you already have the Seagull... Which is pretty much what you asked for. There is also a nice spectating script by kegetys.
johnny vet boy b 0 Posted April 4, 2007 I mean free camera in single player? I don't play MP very often as the gameplay is very hit and miss (mostly miss).
fasad 1 Posted April 4, 2007 From what I remember of my experiments in OFP, the death camera panning effects are created by a easily modified (and easily addon over-riden) script files, although the hardcoded "you are dead" overlay/dialogue blocks out any user input. These default scripts are somewhere in ArmA, I remember seeing them a couple of days ago. Search for death1.sqs, onPlayerKilled.sqs, deathDefault.sqs etc.
Metal Heart 0 Posted April 4, 2007 I don't think the dialog is actually hardcoded but started by enableEndDialog. ...no idea where these scripts are in ArmA. No scripts.pbo
december 0 Posted April 4, 2007 Why would you want it in single player? If you are dead then you are dead. A waste of time watching 2 AI sides fighting each other. You could unpbo the mission set yourself as captive in the editor then watch eveything, that would also be a waste of time. Not very constructive I know, sorry. johnny vet boy b 0 Posted April 4, 2007 December - it might seem odd, but I use Kronzkys AI enhancements which give them a much more real flanking and sneaky approach, and if I die it's interesting to watch the battle play out as I've yet to see any battles play out in identical fashion. Wolfrug 0 Posted April 4, 2007 Quote from the : BIKI Quote[/b] ] onPlayerKilled Launched when the player is killed. This script replaces the default death sequence. Make sure you place the command enableEndDialog somewhere in your script, as this will then cause the dialog that allows you to load, retry, or quit to appear. Basically, make a script named onPlayerKilled.sqs (or .sqf if it's in the new scripting format) and put it in your custom mission folder, and you'll be set. As to modifying the default - I have no idea, maybe follow the advice of some previous posters here. Regards, Wolfrug

Cheers Johnny This can possibly break some missions and can even be considered a cheat (especially if the mission's creator doesn't want you to know where everything is or what happens without completing the mission). It might also be a complete waste of time since SP missions often just end when the player dies (as in going to lose debriefing). Even if the mission doesn't end, they often require the player to do stuff in order for it to continue all the way through (ex: things the AI won't do but are crucial to the mission plan).
