JallaTryne 0 Posted April 1, 2007 Hello In multiplayer I get sound problems. Random sounds will drop out, and the problems increase with time. I have no soundproblem outside ArmA. Could this be connected with lag? It does not change with different sound settings.
-Puma- 2 Posted April 1, 2007 I have this allso and it's VERY annoying Seems that Air cavalry suffers this prob more than other missions.

Stugwi 0 Posted April 3, 2007 I had this problem big style but i seemed to have fixed it. I had FDF soundpack - so i removed it I then uninstalled my Audigy series driver and installed the newest driver from here http://uk.europe.creative.com/support/downloads/ Now no sound loss in multiplayer. I dont know what was causing it but now i dont risk installing FDF soundpack See my first post on this prob here : http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....=stugwi
zinc 0 Posted April 3, 2007 After playing Arma with NO sound problems at all, I went to the sound options menu in ArmA and stupidly started pushing buttons. Having done that, I had major problems with sound loss while playing ArmA online. I'm not sure why this happened, it would seem that clicking the 'Hardware acceleration' and 'EAX' buttons had altered something in my computer settings. After that, it didn't matter what sound setting I chose within ArmA the problem of 'missing sounds' wouldn't go away. So, obviously it's changing 'something' and not reinstating the old settings if you select your previous ArmA setup. How I got my sound working again: Hardware Acceleration: 'Enabled' EAX 'Off' First go and reconfigure you sound settings through the Windows 'Sound and Audio Devices' program (control Panel) until everything is working to your satisfaction, now go and tinker with your chosen soundcards setup program to refine it. If you manage to get the missing sounds back, don't be tempted to press any buttons whatsoever in ArmAs sound options menu EVER again (or at least until it's fixed). Hope this helps restore your sound issues.
Gecko-KOSB- 0 Posted April 3, 2007 I get the same problem, and only happens on servers that seem to be running with 40+ players online. I can go to a diff server and its fine again, but as soon as i jump back into the server with 40+ players, the sound problems happen straight away. On intial load, it seems to take a while before the problem starts to appear, but i onyl get it on large load servers.
theedge_jinx 1 Posted April 3, 2007 I have the same issue. Only solution for me is to turn the hardware acceleration slider down the "Normal" in sound options in windows control panel. But in SinglePlayer Campaign I can run the game with sound acceleration slider on max, as it should be.

Dwarden 1126 Posted April 3, 2007 when i get sound issues (either full loss of audio or some sounds became lost or you can hear only parts) i use this to solve it (i have Creative Labs X-fi XtremeGamer) exit ArmA use Creative Volume Panel to switch from Game mode to Audio Creation and back to Game mode start ArmA again i use both hardware and eax enabled in ArmA + i use latest X-fi driver and latest OpenAL
Gecko-KOSB- 0 Posted April 3, 2007 I have just noticed that in some other threads, ppl are reporting that Arma uses 16 channels only, i wonder if this has something to do with the sounds dropping or partial sounds kicking in etc... I have a xi-fi card, and while i dont need 128 channels, at least 32 would be nice.
