ArmA pause my PC for 3sec in every minute

I working with ArmA (mission editing) about a month ago. And when I play, everything is fine. But when I edit a mission, the ArmA (and my all PC) stucked for 3-4sec in EVERY minute.

The mission designers sometimes change back to the desktop (Alt-Tab) for edit scripts in a texteditor or see something in the Biki. And the effect (stuck/halt) happened there too... The Notepad and the browser(Biki) also stucked/halted for 3-4 sec if ArmA run in the backround.

It's very-very annoying!

Could anybody help me, how can I stop this "feature"? Huh?

BTW: There is no internet connection on my home (ArmA) PC. And I feel this stuck, because ArmA try communicate on internet, but couldn't. Is it possible?

Very possible.

If my pc isn't connected it takes 5-6 times longer to load/do anything in the game. It's always checking for a connection so yes, I'd say your problem probably has to do with no connection present.

thats why i'm finished with this game, i have the same, i don't have internet at home now since few weeks and mission making became impossible :/

but i haven't got any idea that can be caused by internet ?

even if i turn off all Antivirus software

in my case it is not evry minute, sometimes 2 minutes, but game is frozen to even 5-6 seconds

in Poland to give 700 euro for PC to play i had to save money to resingn off summer vacation off new digital camera

usually people earn 200-400 EU /month here

i bought AMD X2 3800 +, 2 * 1 GB corsair, Nvidia 7900 GS, in poland it is expensive and fast PC

to buy it i had to take credit in bank for 300 EU

but as i see for this game no PC is good

before 1.05 game was quite good , after it is totaly unplayable

while people with lower PC has FPS increase,

i had after 1.05 about 50% FPS decrease !

i wait for patch that will make this game playable more than for 15 minutes

i loose textures, lods after 15 minutes !

it is unacceptable

on ver. 1.02 i could play and first problems were after 40 minutes (some textures were lost, but alt+tab helped, textures and shadows were appearing again after 0.5-0.7 second)

now - after 20 minutes computer needs restart because it is frozen

after turning off arma system is back after 10 seconds

before patch all was OK

Sheesh Vilas!

I'm glad I patched straight up to 1.05 when I bought the game because I'd hate to think it would run better before this version.

I've seen those LOD errors once or twice but I can play for hours with no problem at all - hopefully 1.06 will fix it for you.

If this pauses are indeed network access attempts, you can

try to block those off with an personal firewall and see, if it helps the cause.

Just to try if its the reason, download and install Freeware

Tiny Personal firewall 2.0 (3.0 = money)

Install Tiny and startup ArmA; the Firewall should react upon it and ask

you to allow access for ArmA.exe to connect to the Internet.

Just deny that (an denial rule is created).

Then, shutdown ArmA and try it again, this time with the editor.

Still pauses?

Sidenote: If this firewall (out of date) causes problems on your PC,

uninstall it after the test and get an proper, up-to-date one.

(Tiny, Kerio;..just NOT Zonealarm!

If it does *not* cause problems, you should create 2 rules

One for access granted, if you want to play MP and one

denial rule (which you got already) .

Just activate the rule depending on your needs and deactivate the other.

If, however, you do not need anything net related, just deactivate your network card in device manager.

Well it´s not surprise me. i have been had some "hard drive locks" issue and after some time the pc crashs....

It´s only happen when i run ARMA. I have many other games and don´t have any kind of problem.

I send a email to support and they suggest the obvious...update drivers, etc...

It´s not necessary, the problem is with ARMA software/hardware protection....

I give up from this KING OF THE BUGS game....

Every time i play solo missions, i shut down my Internet hard and software.

I have no problem running Arma without an active I-net connection.

When i`m offline my anti-virus is shut down too, so that nothing slows down my computer.

I have same problem here c drive just locks up i believe in my case its either starforce or gayspy . once i find out which a nasty e-mail going there way, never did like my profile being in my documents to be honest, i know you can change but i already did enough beta testing for one game .

i am not an expert and wondered if anyone can clarify that arma pages the hard drive alot more than other games because of its streaming tech, if thats the case then it could be this that has fooked my hard drive ??

Deano I have a starforce issue from kingkong ubisoft game, it messed with BF2 and cuased issues with the Bf2 CD being read.

search on google for star force removal, they even have there own unistaller now the people who made it. Once i got that off my PC BF2 ran like a dream again.
