Krasny 0 Posted March 9, 2007 i'm playing the first sneaky mission and i keep getting killed by soldiers who move to 5 meters behind me, completely silently the first thing i know is when the soldier says something or fires the other sounds work fine
-Puma- 2 Posted March 9, 2007 Same here, sometimes the sound just goes dead on MP. Try turning off hardware acceration, and EAX helps, but dosen't eliminate the sound bug
Krasny 0 Posted March 9, 2007 actually on reflection i think the helo is drowning out low frequency sounds, such as the footsteps of soldiers walking towards you
smellyjelly 0 Posted March 9, 2007 I have a few sound problems: 1. When playing missions my gun won't make any noises when I fire it. The only way to fix this problem as far as I know is to restart the level. 2. Not all sounds are being played, like in a big battle or something. 3. The radio messes up constantly. Either messages will take a very long to be played/show up, or some words are not said. Also, sometimes the radio will stay on even after the person has finished talking, so no one else can say anything.

malick 0 Posted March 10, 2007 I had some problems with sound too. I de-activated EAX and hardware acceleration and added the option -openal to my arma.exe shortcut. <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">"D:\Program Files\ArmedAssault\arma.exe" -openal -nosplash -maxmem=1024 -mod=@Divers;@FDF_Sounds It works fine now ! Malick I doubt that the "-openal" parameter is doing anything. ArmA already uses OpenAL. The solution for most people is to just turn off H/W Acceleration and/or EAX.
