Krasny 0 Posted March 8, 2007 i'm playing the sabotage scenario after the watertower sniper scenario i get to a point where the baloon goes up, save the game when i load the game AA CTDs repeatedly i gave up on that save game, reverted to the map and started again after about 1 minute my entire system locks up, forcing me to reboot i thought this wasn't possible using vista
mattxr 9 Posted March 8, 2007 Well without information we cant help you. System Specs / ArmA Version / Show the RPT File / And If your using Vista .. Many Many Times has been said ArmA is not for Vista.. Does the ArmA Box Say Vista Anywhere in the minimum/recommended specs.. nope That is most likely your problem but who knows with the lack of info.
Krasny 0 Posted March 8, 2007 well a simple 'screw you' would have sufficed and is not very constructive i looked at my DVD box: it says minimum specs are windows XP, implying versions of windows after XP, it will work, and versions of windows prior to XP it won't where is my RPT file? In Vista every game crashes, but because of the bugged beta drivers for the soundcards. With activated onboard sound Arma and other games don`t crash. Krasny 0 Posted March 8, 2007 see that's much better i did not install any drivers for my sound card, windows recognised it when i inserted it i will try hunting down more recent drivers
Kode 0 Posted March 8, 2007 it probably indeed will be a driver-related problem. But on the box it says: min requirements software: Windows 2000 or XP recommended requirements software: windows XP and directx9 windows is not something like a CPU where you could compare XP(2 Ghz) with vista(3Ghz). It's an operating system and as such, it should be either written their or else not supported. Vista isn't a next version of XP, it was build from nothing. it is not like windows XP being an upgrade of windows 2000.
Krasny 0 Posted March 9, 2007 it's a matter of semantics actually sincei installed the latest vista patch for my soundcard and video card AA has been as stable as a rock also the video is a lot smoother
