M-N-0N 0 Posted April 17, 2002 i think a harrier in OFP would be ok ... as ya know they can go realy slow hell even stop in mid air as you already know ...... so i dont think it would be a prob.... it would just be up to the user on how they wannna fly it ..... USSoldier11B 0 Posted April 17, 2002 I agree that supersonic aircraft have no place in OFP. I will always lust after a C-130 though. Can't wait, Can't wait, Can't wait...

Probably related to the ability to fire only one weapon per unit. These are flashpoints primary engine/code flaws. Stuff that will either be added in later versions or just excused because "they will tax pc's to highly".

I disagree, in terms of people who have fast enough computers will have the ability to use massive view distance, and handle the entire massive system burden created. The engine scalar system would have to be revised to a degree that would allow combat able fly altitudes of over 20000ft, ie. you'd be able to target a tank from very high and fast, on vastly larger maps. This matter needs more a technical analysis, really.
Concealed Weasel 1 Posted April 17, 2002 The A-10 is a superb plane, and has proved itself worthy more often thaan the F-18, but not because the F-18 is a crappy plane (which it isnt), the only major war that used the F-18 was the Persian Gulf and it was only used for FAC. Planes shouldnt be added anyway, they should fix the bugs with the Aviation portion of Op Flash before they even think of adding more planes. If you really want a great flight sim get Jane's F/A-18 or Jane's USAF. Besides the F/A-18 is mainly a carrier based plane, which Op Flash does not have, so it would just be a waste of energy, but I don't disagree with an AV-8B for Op Flash, its Subsonic, can be stationed at the front lines, is a formidable fighter and bomber, doesnt use that much runway, as long as it doesnt fly like a helicopter, like with the Harrier addons ive used. advocatexxx 0 Posted April 17, 2002 Why compare the F-16, F/A-18, and the Harrier with one another ? They're all operated by completely separate military branches. The Air Force, The Navy, and The Marines respectively. F/A-18s operate from Aircraft Carriers as they have all repair/support personnel and equipment there. Same goes for the Harrier jets, that mostly operate from Amphibious Carriers used by the Marines. Each one of those military branches has had their aircraft developed for their strategic and tactical needs, so don't compare them. As for the F-22, give me a break. Also, why is it that everyone says the A-10 is an ugly plane ? I always thought it had a rather very unique personality, and I sure as hell think it's more attractive than the degenerate-looking Su-25. Warthogs are ugly, not A-10s. scout 0 Posted April 17, 2002 well pretty or not, its doint the job superbly. and i would agree that in its essence OFP is tactical battle field sim, and that u should only have units that have any relation to imediate action. e.g. choppers, A-10, Su-25 is quite streching it, their role is CAS but not on the ranges in the game. harrier........well dunno. i would be happy for battles between platoon sized units and even company then all this aircraft stuff. there are scores of flight sims but there is only one OFP! advocatexxx 0 Posted April 17, 2002 Battles between Companies ? Uhhh.. frame rates would go haywire with 300 men on the field.

WKK Gimbal 0 Posted April 18, 2002 I want a Death Star so I can blow up all 3 islands (soon 4) in one shot and make missions last under 1 second. Yeah, that would be fun and tactically challenging. All power to powerplay!
