Rinorak 0 Posted February 25, 2007 Hi. I instaled the game and everything was perfect! I tried to run the game but nothing happened.. I reinstalled 3 times but nothing changed.. After last reinstallation i went to bed just to discover that, the next morning, the game was running! I played and everything was allright. I tried to re run the game but same problem.. The game started after 3 hours! I think it is a protection issue but i don't know how to solve.. I have 3ghz intel, 2gb ram, radeon x1950xtx so far beyond minimun requirements. Please help! mikupoiss 0 Posted February 25, 2007 Try disabling the AV software. I had similar problem with NOD32 and Joint Task Force. The game installed for about 20 minutes, and launched 10 minutes. Added to game folder to exeptions and worked fine.

Jack-UK 0 Posted February 25, 2007 Yes, make sure anti virus software + firewall software are configured correctly to allow ArmA to run, or to be sure, turn it all off temporarily and then run ArmA.
mikupoiss 0 Posted February 25, 2007 by AV do you mean anti virus? before installing i take it? AV- antivirus, yes Disabling it before, or after installing depends very much of the game. It's always safer to disable it before.

vilas 477 Posted February 25, 2007 on my computer ARMA was starting sometimes after 8-14 retries i had new PC from shop formated new disc new system and game was saying i have emulating software i had enough of it but one friend told me how to solve it when i installed daemon tools and i run it from simulator all works fine there were advices like "uninstal Nero, uninstal this, uninstal that", uninstall all except ARMA ;/ this is completely nonsense ! incomprehensible ! when i had no such software security system of ARMA was saying i have such software and was stopping game, i couldn't start game, polish developer haven't answered me on my 4 e-mails to tech support ! when i installed it - all works fine (except horrible graphic performance) incomprehensible and nothing more to say so you may have same problem "turn off AV, turn off firewall, turn off all, turn off computer" such advice is nonsense how can we use game in the Internet when firewall is turned off, than we are not safe people have newest and very strong computers and after 20-30 minutes of gameplay or few restarts of mission, they have missing objects, missing textures and advice is "turn all to low details" but on low details it looks s*** why we pay so much money for PC to have all on "low" ? this game should work on PC normally as any other game i had many games and never such problems with any of them OFP was super, thanx to editable form ARMA was big hope, hope for super successor of OFP Sahrani looks nice, game looks nice - until it crushes if this bugs will be fixed (performance, ability to turn off HDR, ability to jump) this game can also be super but now - it has a lot of bugs, for example - wanted to make some missions to my addons 1) invasion like in D-Day but AI was thrown out from boat without weapon 50 meters from beach i don't know what to to make them get out on beach and not loose weapons 2) i wanted to make mission like "team get n M113 and go to place" AI get in M113 but me - player - i couldn't because there was no active option get in, only active option was "take grenades" and teamlader was still giving "8 get in M113" i was walking few minutes around M113 and no option was available really BIS have a lot of work to do

If anyone has read the UK PCGamer review they gave it 70%, now I read this and still bought the game being a flashpoint fan. I have some faith in the fact BI will sort this mess out, however flashpoint was never this much of a problem. Please fix it soonest!
vilas 477 Posted February 25, 2007 for You - living in UK it was not such problem for me - in my country people earn 200-350 Euro by month to buy computer for ARMA (700 Eu) I had to save money for half year and to take credit in bank electronics in our country is more expensive than in western Europe (like cars, for 10-20%) example: for Cannon 400 D people in west pay 700 USD , in my shop it costs 1000 USD my VGA MSI 7900 GS costed me 250 USD in west it costs under 190 USD how angry will be people in Russia/Ukraina, when man earns 100 Eu ? and for new PC save money for year ? i was very big OFP fan and now i am very disappointed i hope moderator won't punish me for "offtopic" message

BraTTy 0 Posted February 26, 2007 Alot of you obviously haven't been gaming very long. ...I remember many, many times in the past a game I bought wouldn't work because I had some odd hardware. Whether It was because I had some generic soundcard, voodoo rush ,v2,not enough or too much ram, you name it. Hardware has became alot more standarized and even tho vilas pays alot, computer hardware is at a low.Its cheap now ( I paid 600$ usd for a cd drive when they came out,500$ for a 40 Meg hd etc..) It used to be nothing to have up to $20,000 in a single computer,I had 2 On the topic: game star 3 hours later...you sure windows wasn't updating or running some maintenance? Nowadays anyone has a computer, its easier to tell most to just disable whole things such as the firewall rather than to explain the proper process
Rinorak 0 Posted February 27, 2007 Sorry for the late reply. I will try to close windows firewall and av (now i'am not at home). I had the european version (italian). No update or other downloads running. As i said early everything goes well after 3 hours. So i think is some bug related with the cd check. I hope there will be a patch to solve those issue. I will let you know! Tnx for the answers!
