GAU-8 0 Posted February 25, 2007 hey guys, got an issue here that doesnt bother me too much, but there are times when it gets in the way.. OFFLINE playing, i can play as long as i want with NO graphical degradation. but when i play online, no matter the server side settings.. anywhere from 5-30 minutes (sometimes more) i start to loose out on the graphics, and eventually im playing in SEGA MASTER SYSTEM type graphics from the 80's. everythings is simple geometric shapes. i noticed that if i alt-tab out, then alt-tab back in, all graphics have been restored back to its "original shine". this happens ONLINE ONLY.....not offline. singleplayer mode does not have this issue for me. just cant figure out what/why it does this. -Puma- 2 Posted February 25, 2007 The problem is to do with video memory running out/not cleared the right way. Iv'e been able to reduce this with my nvidia card: Set the render frames ahead to 0. I allso use setmem=1024 option wich reduces this rendering problem. Anyways hope the new patch will make this prob go away Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
vilas 477 Posted February 25, 2007 read more topics this is wide known bug of ARMA not the only one problem (HDR, wrong AI behavior ) ARMA seems to be very unfinished software it happens after some alt+tab , entering map, or restarting mission ARMA doesn't clean unused textures, or when you load mission again this engine is not perfect Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

MK1 0 Posted February 25, 2007 read more topicsthis is wide known bug of ARMA is there a single topic dealing with this issue? i've got the exact same problem, although with offline play and i've been browsing the forum for a quite some time without being able to find the "definite" helpful topic for it. i'd rather not start a new topic if there's already one available. the problem itself is really starting to piss me off since i've tried a lot of different approaches and nothing seems to help.
