Crash after intro screen!?

Recommended Posts

Well after the intro screen, it crashes back to Windows XP for no apparent reason. Though arma.exe is still running in the background (alt-tab does not work). So I have to kill the task.

I checked arma.RPT for errors and this is what I got:

How about you post your full hardware / software specs instead of bumping the thread ?

I'm certain someone might have a tip or two then.

AMD Opteron 165 @ 2.7 Ghz

Corsair 4096 MB Ram

X1900XTX 7.1 Catalyst drivers

Soundblaster X-fi Music (yes in gamemode)

Windows XP 32-bit SP2 with all latest updates

Yes, yes I have all latest available drivers and updates for my hardware. Yes I also have the latest DirectX and no there are no problems in dxdiag.

Corrupt/"damaged" pbo file? Copy the anims.pbo from the DVD, replace it and see if it works. Or... reinstall the whole thing.

I wonder what that means...

Yeah I already tried replacing the file, didn't do anything. Exact same filesize as well... Guess I will have to reinstall it all again... If it even helps. sad_o.gif

Reinstalled the whole game, and still the same problem...

If I don't get this fixed quickly, I will return my game. Been messing around with this game for 2 days already in order to get it running... Sheesh!

Can someone give me their ArmA.cfg instead? Maybe it's the refreshrate or something... :S

- Try deleting your Arma.cfg file.

- Did you have an Antivirus program running while installing Arma or even while running it ?

- Did you try installing it to a different location, to exclude a bad sector on your HDD ?

- Try running a checkdisk task

*EDIT*

- Stop bumping the thread or you get a format c: through remote assistance crazy_o.gif

Wow aren't you the helpful one. All those things won't help, cause my hardware is top notch.

Heatseeker was way more helpful and I am going to try installing it on a different partition. If it still doesn't work I am sending the game back...

I don't understand what AV programs, the Arma CFG file or Bad HDD sectors have to do with your Hardware being 'Top Notch'.

You are not the sharpest knife in the drawer, are you ?

Hey Deserrat, I think you have been to long in the desert... Maybe dehydrated? Or did you fell on your head when your ape-like momma gave birth to you?

Hey Deserrat.....did you fell on your head when your ape-like momma gave birth to you?

I see you are new here so I suggest you read the rules, change your attitude, apologize to Desertfox (and his mother) and stop bumping this thread. Next time you'll get a warning-level and a post-restriction.
