profe 0 Posted February 24, 2007 Bah, are people really turning their backs on arma modding? Wankers.
Ironsight 1 Posted February 24, 2007 Yeah I noticed it getting quiet and figured that everyone was already making addons for ArmA. The problem is that a lot of modders were looking forward to ARMA, which meant a lot of modders leaked away from OFP. But due to the fact that it was quite dissapointing for some they gave up on ARMA modding and seeing the OFP community is so empty didn't make them go back to OFP either. Quote[/b] ]At any rate, perhaps someone can ask Vit if they can modify his Mi-24/35 addon into a more accurate Mi-35 and into a Super Hind??? Unless there's already a model on the internet VIT can't make it, if you know what I mean...
miles teg 1 Posted February 25, 2007 Yeah I know, but I was just saying that someone could ask Vit if THEY could modify his models (or wherever he got them from) rather then just asking Vit to fix them. They would require extensive modifications which is why someone else should do the modifying if they are to be high quality super-hinds. Shadow NX 1 Posted February 27, 2007 The VIT Hind is a free model from some 3d model selling site ( turbosquid? ), however he modified it quite a lot and did textures afaik. If i remeber right the Hind we wanted to make before we saw Scars was also based on that model but plans were dropped as it needs lot of modding... however scars also isnt perfect but 110% but at least looks stunning
profe 0 Posted February 27, 2007 and the interiors are lovely and then it's got the awesome effects when firing the rockets and the cannon on the p model I loves the hind.
profe 0 Posted March 2, 2007 @ rock: I don't know if it'll help, but here's a pic I found of a cockpit mockup http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v326/Kayback/Hindupgrade.jpg
Avimimus 0 Posted March 26, 2007 I always thought it would be neat if the Russians had developed an escort/command helicopter: - Based on Mi-24 components - A rear gunner with a Yak-b 14.5mm - Only two hardpoints on the wings - A commander in the cargo compartment - A variant with a second optical/guidance ball mounted on the underside of the cargo compartment beside a 30mm turret (based on the 2a42 mount of the Mi-28. Such a helicopter would be able to suppress manpads, direct other helicopters and act as a cannon gunship. It would be perfect for escort in an Afgan/Chechen situation and could also fill a command and observation role in Europe. During Afganistan many hinds were modified (one with a rear turret). Often pilots flew into battle with two door guns, 10x100kg bombs and heavy machine guns for self defense in case they got shot down.
