heyvern69 22 Posted February 4, 2002 Please continue to fix and improve joystick and throttle control! 1) Throttle sensitivity needs improvment. On person described it this way: "its a sensitivity thing.. Â basically 90% of the Collective response in OFP comes from about 10% of the throttle's movement.. Â so just moving the throttle a TINY TINY bit means the difference between rocketing straight up or no collective at all and BLAM." 2) Please add a Forward/Reverse Throttle Option for when you fly planes versus helicopters. The throttle should be pushed forward to increase thrust in planes. Â And the throttle should be pulled backward to increase collective pitch in the helos. 3) In general, any improvements to ALL aircraft flight models and avionics would be MUCH APPRECIATED. Of coarse, please don't do an incredibly complex "FALCON 4" level of avionics in the aircraft, or else you'll scare lots of gamers away, but slightly more realistic flight models AND avionics would certainly be a welcome addition. Â (HINT - Helicopter side slip could use some improvement) THANK YOU! -Vern.
heyvern69 22 Posted February 6, 2002 *bump* Helo & Aircraft improvements are probably going to be important, considering that the new ADD-ON will have lots of new helos & jets.
JumpinJackFlash 0 Posted February 6, 2002 I would like to be able to play Falcon 4.0 in OFP Anyway, yes, more realistic flight modelling and improved control would be great! Like choppers being able to fly more that 500 feet above the ground. Best Regards JumpinJackFlash-[21VB] (the source code for Falcon 4.0 is public, it was released/stolen from Microprose when they decided to stop their suport of the game. If you would like some inspiration....)
WKK Gimbal 0 Posted February 11, 2002 About merging games .... One day I see a World Engineâ„¢, which basically is a monster engine running a HUGE world with reallife physics and AI. Then all gamedevelopers do is make plugins for World Engineâ„¢, which might be a flightsimulator or every-day-life roleplaying. All these things combined will be a single game with all possibilities! Ok, I shouldn't post late at night ... Â Â

Ok, I shouldn't post late at night ... Â Â <span id='postcolor'> Hehe. GREAT idea. However, you won't be able to get that many people to agree. Trying to get 3 people to agree on what makes a good game or simulation is near impossible. Let alone getting a ton of people worldwide to agree upon standards that will allow for a huge electronic battlefield environment that will please large numbers of people. Some want it fully realistic with tons of hardcore Simulation aspects, while others want more "fun game" aspects (less realistic), etc. And the fighting will continue until the project is halted because too many people want too many different things. Even BIS has to decide what to feedback to listen to and what feedback to ignore. I just wish they would stop ignoring ME. I want more FLIGHT SIM improvements in OFP, da#% it! :-) :-) :-)

It will be fixed too (and for planes as well). You will be able to climb about 2500 m (12000 m for planes) with both keyboard and joystick now.
shadow 6 Posted February 12, 2002 Very nice, Suma Now all I have to do is to wait for the patch and TM to get their thumbs out of their a**es and release Cougar
shadow 6 Posted February 12, 2002 OH allmost forgot... Suma: while you're at it with adjusting the joystick controls for planes and chopper, try to take off on grass ;-) Planes + grass = bad combination
WKK Gimbal 0 Posted February 12, 2002 Shadow: You can take off from grass on Kolgujev, as it has no designated landing areas. Suma: The new altitude sounds really great!

sonic 0 Posted February 15, 2002 suma... could the fordward/reverse throttle option be set on the options both for Planes and Choppers? also... could I make you some question about programming games in general? (where do I may begin?...) Thanks!
Axek/Axyl 2 Posted February 16, 2002 In this area, may I also request that we be able to select which joystick is assigned to each joystick function in the keymapper? I have a USB Saitek X-45 and USB CH Rudders. They show up, in windows, as seperate gaming devices. The Saitek X45 is my 'default' controller, but Flashpoint always only allows the use of the CH rudders. (I guess this is because they come first alphabetically?) I have to disable my rudders, to play OFP with my Saitek, but I obviously have rudders for a reason, and would like to use them too. Regards, Axek.
shadow 6 Posted February 16, 2002 As long as OFP works fantastic with Thrustmasters up-coming COUGAR I will be very gratefull
Vatic_Spark 0 Posted March 1, 2002 I have to agree with Sonic. Could we be able to select how we want the throttle to respond? (ie reversible throttle)? It may sound "un-sim-like" but my hands always push up to increase throttle, and down to decrease (probably from all of the Mechwarrior and Jet simulator games). Many blown up choppers later, I've realized that my hands can be my worst enemy Basically, two new selectable commands (example) Chopper throttle Reverse/Normal Plane throttle Reverse/Normal I've tried to use software to reverse it, but Sidewinders Game activator allows you to customize everything BUT the throttle. hehe.
