Assault (CAN) 1 Posted January 31, 2002 Shotguns are pointless in open areas, since 99.999% of all fighting in OFP is done in open areas, its pointless to have a shotgun. The resistance could use some weapons. They should give the resistance "real" civvie rifles instead of an AK-47 or 74 or PK. I find it hard to see how civves would get a full-auto assault rifle legally. Unless they stole them from the Russians. Maybe they should have some Russian hunting rifles or something, like a Saiga. But they could do with a couple of other weapons, sure. Regarding shotguns, I'd prefer the Jackhammer! Unl33t 0 Posted January 31, 2002 Oh please no, Someone made a thread like this one quite a long time back... I don't belive a shotgun would workout in Operation Flashpoint. I could make a config with lower precision, less scope magnification, etc. And retexture the rifle. No problemo. And I'm sure the Saiga can hit targtes more than 200 m away. I tried a coop mission where this lazy Jamaican drove you to a meeting with a Russian officer who gave you a couple of old crappy rifles so you could attack a US installation.
