35th Signal Brigade

Recommended Posts

My first public Addon, mostly some detail oriented things like Rank, Unit Insignia, and RSSI. I might do more when the tools come out, and there are a few changes I want to make in the future. Heres the download link http://www.yousendit.com/transfe....5F4454C Here's the readme.

<table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">The 35th Signal Brigade:

No other addons required.

Not a big deal, just unit patches, combat patches, rank and loadout on various new soldier types.

I had to break it up into multiple .pbos because of the way models associate with textures

and I haven't been able to change that yet.

The 35th Signal Brigade(Airborne) is currently the primary means of signal support to the 18th Airborne Corps, to

that end, the brigade is responsible for rapid deployment and employment of a vast country spanning signal network.

Able to relay and extend, the 35th Signal brigade is filled with pogues who didn't do shit and sat in Camp Victory

or LSA Anaconda and swam in pools and shit while I was out in the mud kicking in doors and walking along canals

getting shot at every day. So,in my bitterness, I present this collection of 35th Signal Brigade soldiers.

There is a number of generic soldiers to fill all roles, and a few actual people who made it into this version.

The complete list is:

Soldier

Soldier(SAW)

Team Chief

Section Sergeant

Platoon Sergeant

First Sergeant

Command Sergeant Major

Platoon Leader

Company Commander

Battalion Commander

Brigade Commander

and a few people who made both a negative and positive impression on me while I was a member of such an

"illustrious," unit. I have left out some of the boring staff positions and ranks like MSG and SGM.

All of the enlisted from Platoon Sergeant and down have M16s with 7 magazines and no grenades, why no grenades?

Because some signal soldiers can't even qualify with their weapons so why give them grenades? All officers and

Senior NCOs have M4s and M9s.

If you are one of the people who is represented in this list and you feel bad about it, it's probably because

you are one of the Negative Impression people and all I can say is too bad, you shouldn't have been a dickface

for the entire 3 years I was there.

Things Left To Do:

Fix the flag patch from the slanted subdued to a right angle full color.

Make Groups

Make more people >_>

Nametapes

Shoulder pockets

Possibly find a way to cut down on the number of .pbos

Modify attributes so they suck, IE soldiers shouldn't be able to shoot very well and get tired easily. Commanders and SNCOs

need really bad AI to represent the fact that they don't know what they're doing. Lower "hitpoints," because as

weak signal soldiers, sick call is always one of the first places to be visited when they have a tummy ache. Need

to find a way to have CSM Hammonds randomly punch soldiers..just like in real life!

I think that's it for now. Speed and Accuracy!

Some screenshots:

This 35th Soldier forgot his weapon on the way to battle. Just like in real life. Whoops!

A Platoon Leader doing exactly what he usually does. Nothing.

A Platoon Sergeant "earning" his Bronze Star by posing for the camera.

Company formation, the thing that soldiers of the 35th Signal Brigade spend most of their time doing. First Sergeant in front, Co and battalion commander and CSM in the back.

Thanks, when the tools come out, I intend to do the various equipment to go along with it. Different types of antennas, humvees with various radio shelters on the back, offices for the Higher Ups to sit around and waste tax dollars, you know the works.

Great humor I bet all serving folk can relate to that.

I quite like the idea that these addons are more organised in US Army ORBAT (ORder of BATtle) style and not using a generic ORBAT system which is currently employed in Amred Assault.

Thanks, if you can't tell, my 3 years in 35th sucked; much better where I am now. I might do a little more personalization with the "Special," characters because right now, my old Company Commander is the only one with anything vastly different. The reason behind the Little Debbie thing is that Captain Deb is a really short guy who's never been deployed and he's in command of a company where every soldier has deployed and he told us we didn't know what we were talking about and blah blah blah West Point. Hence, Little Debbie.

Having a realistic chain of command like that is something that I would like to see as the standard for anyone putting something out like this. When I get around to making 172nd Strker Brigade, it will use the same format, but hopefully have alot more to add in terms of quality and what not. I'm really not happy with breaking the whole thing into different .pbos because it looks really sloppy, but I just don't know a different way of doing it yet.

Like I said above, when the mod tools come out, I'll teach myself how to 3D model by going back to the 35th and doing their equipment which all basically consists of simple shapes and barbarically crude textures. It wouldn't be an addon for everybody because it's not a collection of, "omg eleite spechul forcuslol behind eneme lineslol!" but to me it just adds a little bit of atmosphere to see some pogue looking guys milling around a box and a humvee and stuff. But yeah, thanks for the look.

Thank you, I'm eagerly awaiting the tools. I have modelled all of the trucks with their attached communications equipment, and will work on the antennas sometime soon.

I"ll update the textures someday too.

35th signal brigade is too cheap to re-issue current camoflauge pattern equipment to it's soldiers. The only reason we were issued anything to begin with was because they had no choice. Thanks though. They still have guys running around in the woodland pattern IBAs because they ran out of desert pattern, several people were issued the wrong size too because there just wasn't enough.

That's pretty sad considering I had an ACU IBA at fort benning for infantry basic

You want to know another thing sad? I was issued 3 vests for deployment, 1 was compromised the first month, 1 was compromised in April 05, and the third was stolen when I was run off the road by an ambulance in March 06 and couldn't secure it because I was being transported in said ambulance. I have paid for all 3 of those vests, the third I can almost understand, but the first two...jesus, I was shot and IED'd, it's not like I did something dumb or anything.

But yeah, old unit..bad memories.
