Rob 1 Posted January 29, 2002 I know that we have had some bad links and errors with the manual but we are currently working on version 1.1... Version 1.1) Got rid of the crappy embarrasing colors, totally remade the design with all the links working, currently have two teams translating it into german and CZ, added points people said that weren't thought over. you can dl it here.. enjoy but remember some of the links dont work so simply find the name of the file it was supposed to link to and goto into the folder.... i know one of them is the advanced camera scripting... Bloodmixer 0 Posted January 29, 2002 Hi there Rob, I just voted number #2 (well done, could use some improvements) I think it is a good manual especially if your just starting (but there is some good in-depth info as well) , I like the way it is illustrated (and heck I even learned something of it, LOL ) Luckily I read you were getting rid of all the colors ! That was my main criticism, the graphic design....I hope the next manual will be more compact and use even colours throughout, but please do keep the illustrative graphics. You and the team did a good job, and is a nice addition for editing help ! Greetings, Bloodmixer
Stag 0 Posted January 29, 2002 Nice timing. I was just looking for something to get me into the basics of scripting The colours are...

4ntifa 0 Posted January 30, 2002 It's a good start. I really disliked the manual's look, the colors and scrolling were rather unstylish. A more simple, elegant and polished look would do wonders. The content was generally good, but most of it was too much concentrated in giving an example instead of teaching the principles. You know, "Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day, teach him fishing and he'll eat for the rest of his life". And there could be so much more! Keep up the good work! madmike 0 Posted January 30, 2002 I liked the manual but most of the pics didnt work so I couldnt understand alot of the info
Rob 1 Posted January 31, 2002 well the important part is to impress the audience so thats why in the readme file i put something on the lines of giving us your views.. its not helpful saying its crap! tell us what to improve on and in what subject.
Brentk 1 Posted February 2, 2002 I also voted #2 cause some of the pics didnt work for me also... it might also be a little intimidating for 'newbies' to install and get it to work, lol, do u guys think you could make a quick installation program or something? its no where near vital, but would be cool! Rob 1 Posted February 4, 2002 THATS THE PROBLEM, I can make a crappy zip file exe but i dont know how to make an exe like producers use with demos if you know where i mean..
ufo_hk 1 Posted February 7, 2002 Great start and useful info. Suggestions for improvements: 1/ Colour scheme - yuck blue on black near impossible to read. Also maintain a consistent look and feel through the document, changing schemes was off putting. Larger font? 2/ Remove scrolling index - I want to read not test my mouse speed. 3/ Make it printer friendly - some like to print out and read while working through parts. 4/ Ask for feedback in the document it's self rather than just the readme.txt. 5/ Rename welcome.htm to index.htm - the default home page for most servers. 6/ Place all files except index.htm in a higher level directory eg manual. Then the index file will be quicker to find and won't need to be complicated by being self installing as well as extracting. 7/ Since you're using HTML - add a menu to each section top or bottom so we can move to areas we want without having to go back to the first page each time. 8/ Convert all your trigger "gif" files to jpg - although they will be bigger in file size they will be much easier to read. Good luck and thanks for the usefull resource.
