Game actually runs at a max refresh rate of 60Hz

Recommended Posts

I have probly spent hours upon hours tweaking the game, trying out every single setting, messing with the config files, checking to see if the problem was with my card, my computer... everything.

Heres what I get.

No matter what refresh rate I choose it always seems to be 60hz. No matter what frame rate im getting I can clearly see the frame tearing that is seen at 60hz. While ATI tray tools reports a frame rate of lets say 60+, it feels like im getting 25. In other games where I get a frame rate of 60+ at a refresh rate of 85Hz panning the view around is as smooth as silk. Thats not how it is in this game. It doesn't matter what settings I choose, very high or very low, the refresh rate is exactly the same, and so are the frame rates. I choose 85Hz and I get 60hz every time. I am positive its nothing to do with my gfx cards settings.

Are any of you experiencing this problem with the game? Have you solved it yet? I have tried everything I can think of.

40 fps feels like 25, also frame tearing is strongly noticed.

60 fps feels like 30

Thanks in advance.

Force ArmA to use triple buffering in your driver settings.

lol that seemed to do it. Thank you very much. It runs very smooth now. inlove.gif

In my ATI control panel it says that triple buffering helps when vsync is enabled. Generally I have never used vsync, is it good to turn on for this game or off?

most of normal video card drivers can force Triple Buffering only in OpenGl not Direct3D ...

on ATI you can force TB for application in profiles via ATI Tray Tools ...
