Question: Things that can be permanently changed?

Alright. I know of a few things that can be changed on your personal OFP that can be loaded into MP game's that are not considered "cheating".

1. The Modern Sky Pack.

2. Kegety's Sky Pack

3. FFUR

4. ECP

5. WGL

6. FFUR (Unactivated) but still have music/sounds with normal OFP effects.

7. Dxdll (FX & Framerate counter)

Is there anymore? I heard something about the nightvision goggles and them allowing you to see better without the large amount of static everwhere.. is this true? And are there anymore "ligit/optional" ofp tweeks and goodies out there can can be changed and played on MP servers?

PS: I know mods (FFUR/ECP/WGL) crash servers, but things like sounds don't. I'm just wondering about things that CAN be changed.

It all depends on what files server admin wants to check. From games point of view changing sky, nvgoggles or unit textures to bright white are just the same - you override data.pbo with something else.

True. But I am asking people if they know of any "data.pbo"s for download that can/will work in some servers. What "data.pbo's" have been created to say that they will pose a certain "effect".

Example: Where could I find this nightvision fix/edit static "data.pbo".

I often get "modified file 'data/data.pbo'" etc, but since I allways put FX and stuff in folders, the admin most often sees that I come in with "@llaumax" "@modulsky" etc, and he won't kick me.

Though, sometimes, they miss it the first 2 times, but I get in and explain it to them and they understand

ALWAYS put your modified data in a modfolder, not only for the above reason, but for your own convienience too.

ECP, FFUR Y2K can be considrered as cheating, because of the changed weapon values. (dispersion, recoil etc)

And its always a bad idea to use different addons on the server and client.

Skies and sounds are different ofc, but sounds are critical if it comes to cheating (admin decides)

Well when i play ofp on mp i play with many mod folders.

Hisky sky

WGL Islands vegetation + textures (Can these be considered as cheating?)

Anmation replacements

Sound packs

And the ArmA beep addon.

I dont often playon other serversjust our clan one and all my mod folders are aloud on it so.

Vegetation can be cheating. I played once with BRG nature packs on, and my cous played with vanilla OFP. We'd have conversations like this.

Me: "Russkies through the forest on your right."

Matt: "Where?"

Me: "Right, see, between those trees?"

Matt: "Where? I can't see anything!"

Me: "Over the-"

ecp is not very fair in PvP MP games.. you can blatently use to cheat by randomly throwning grenades around cos all the enemies will shout about it and give away their posistion

if you want the clear nightvision i made a skypack thingy a while ago which you will be able to find on ofp.info that has this feature..but i dont reccomend using it in a PvP MP enviroment as that is also a "cheat" if other people dont have it

Well cant say ive noticed that yet. Mainly cause the trees are replaced with Resistance trees so they dont seem to allow you to see throug forests. I usd to play iwth BRG nature and had that roblem adn thats one reason i stopped using them. Still good for single player though.
