CameronMcDonald 146 Posted November 1, 2006 I beg to disagree... the editor is the heart of the game.

frederf 0 Posted November 2, 2006 Aye. What you've brought up is that some people consider the campaign to be the heart of the game and others (like me) consider it to be almost trivial. OFP Content Review:: Shipped single-player content: 2 weeks Multi/Mod content: 2 years+ I didn't mean to sound so negative, just that character switching seems to me to lose a lot of the personal-character immersion and life-death tension that in my opinion made the first game so enjoyable. kavoven 4 Posted November 2, 2006 The CWC Campaign was great and I played it nearly 8 times... RH was ok and Resistance was quite hard in some places, so I played it "only" 3 times... So I hope the story of the ArmA campaign will be es good as the CWC one.
metalchris 0 Posted November 2, 2006 Storywise i think resistance was much better than CWC. But kavoven is right , it was too hard at some times.
Daniel 0 Posted November 2, 2006 Personally I think the storytelling was much better in CWC. It didn't need long dialogues to explain the plot to the player.
KaiserPanda 0 Posted November 3, 2006 I like the option of changing soldiers mid-battlefield. It let's you see diferant perspectives in the same fight, like a battlefield sandbox. I don't want to see it in multiplayer, but that's another thing entirely. It's good that the option is there.
Heatseeker 0 Posted November 3, 2006 Daniel @ Nov. 02 2006,23:25)]Personally I think the storytelling was much better in CWC. It didn't need long dialogues to explain the plot to the player. Res was too a little too Rambo and too dramatic, the execution was good but the missions were not memorable like some of 85's "classics". I think i only finished RES once. 85 was more of a grunt campaign, i liked having distinct characters for diferent roles, infantry, sabotage, helicopter pilot, armor.. it made it all feel more realistic. The missions were very diverse too, it was pure magic. I cant really explain but the original 1985 campaign was a large part of OPF to me, i just couldnt stop .
