Running while shooting poll

I made poll for this question, becouse i really beleave players can influence developers. So, make your choice do you like this feature or not.

1. I want inaccurate suppressive firing be possible while running in ArmA, like in Operation Flashpoint and Ghost Recon.

2. I don't want to be able to shoot while running like in America's Army.

Uh... The game is released in 4 weeks. I don't think they are going to change the animations.

In fact, I bloody well HOPE they aren't going to change the animations 'cause they are probably up to their arses in bug-fixing which is much more important.

I voted that it doesnt matter. I cant remember any time that I have been running and shooting while playing seriously but at the same time I havent really felt that it needs to be prevented.

sometimes i noticed the a.i can come running at you fireing off some shots, so i think its great fun to have. Also CQB mp deatmatch is also a bit enjoyable with burst fire and running and gunning sometimes. ok you have to be very close to your enemie but it can be sporadic and fun imo. And sometimes i enjoy sniping single shots with acog on enemies 200 meters away also. thats the big fun in this game that its so diverese. smile_o.gif

players who run and shoot dont know how to play ofp. If doing it in OFP (Side step) its really hard to hit something like in real life. Best way to hit someone is kneeled or while laying down. most realisitc is to be able to run and shoot at the same time so:)

When you run into a house and find an enemy soldier 2 feet from you its nice to be able to blast him before he shoots you first because he was standing still....

(Very) Innaccurate shooting while running is more realistic than not being able to shoot at all. Infact give me a gun and ill go to a field with a camera and prove it smile_o.gif.

If it's not in yet, don't bother. If it is in, don't bother removing it wink_o.gif

If some1 wants to reveal himself to the enemy by shooting while running, please let him do so.

I can honestly say if I saw some1 running towards me (in arma) while shooting, I would simply take aim and shoot him to death. I would never seek cover, since that would be too risky.

So IMHO shooting while running won't do any good as suppressive fire and it won't do any good if you want to get kills.

you got some wise sayings there espectro but what if its a area wit many objects closed in and you have around 10 players and a.i running around randomly then you got to do what you got to do.

Im just a advocate of all styles of playing ofp tounge2.gif

Doesn't realler matter one way or another. However, There is really no good reason to remove it.

y remove the realism. u can fire while running, its hard and very unhealthy (for urself and those around u) but it adds an element of fun to it i think

these a whole other post on running while shooting. why bring it up again? a poll won't make much difference as the game is out soon.

who the hell said the shooting (very inaccurately) while moving, like in ofp is being taken out?

Not shooting while moving but shooting while running is probably taken off according to animations and videos I have seen. This happened in Ghost Recon sequel Advanced Warfighter also, so I am amfraid this same thing will happen in Armed Assault. I think only fast walking will be available while shooting. This is only guessing, but I wanted to do something to avoid this, here is your chance to influence developers if they read this forum and if they have time to change it.

i reckon the dev have a pretty idea of what's right themsleves, after all they MADE OFP which is the measure ArmA is going ot exceed.

anyway the intention is good, wink_o.gif

You can do it in real life (if you're that poorly trained) so you should be able to do it in Armed Assault. Limitations are evil.

I have a guess why they want to prevent it, maybe it is what army doctrine is saying about firing and running at same time: This kind of stupid ammo wasting "rambo" tactics isn't certainly allowed in any combat situation, easiest way to prevent this kind of action is to remove this feature completely from this game, becouse we are using this game for educational purpose.

I really hate if they are removing it, maybe it is very rarely usefull, but it should be possible and they still can use it as educational purpose to be able to show that it isn't tactically very usable.
