Transfunsel 0 Posted January 22, 2002 imho that report status isnt the problem. when a team mate dies it sometimes happens he doesnt get thrown out of the leaders' list, his numbers disappears but the player (sprite) remains. maybe got sth to do with the bird respawn (wild guess) ? so even if the player unwantedly calls for a status, because the leaders's logic sometimes calls it from itself, the game logic should remove that dead player completely from the team list. i can remember my first coop with new 1.42 : i was 2nd in team when suddenly our leader died. somebody (ai) reported it and so i became team leader. there was no bug to this point, but when another team mate died, i automatically called for status and them the player number dispappeared (but not his soldier sprite on the team list) and from then on I couldnt stop yelling that he is down. i am not 100 % sure that this is always the case when this error occurs, so if you got other experiences about it, post them here. hth and htgawffts (hoping to get a working fix for this soon) Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Morph 0 Posted January 23, 2002 Absolutely... The game automatically uses the X report status.. I never ever use report status, yet it just kinda makes its own mind up to shout "5 REPORT STATUS".... eScopic 0 Posted January 28, 2002 Dissable Auto Report option, sounded like it was going to work but it didn't. Just played 2 MP maps (1 original and 1 custom) both with Auto Report off. Â It took longer for the repeat message to come but it still did. While testing we had an idea to change the respawn value on the custom map from group (respawn=5) to none (respawn=0). Tried the custom map again and yipee, no repeat message. Suma, can we expect a patch for this soon. Â Most MP maps have respawn into seagull (default option) and this allows the bug to happen. From Suma: "We reproduced this bug. It seems it happens only after Report status is used. As a temporary workaround do not use Report status until we will provide the fix it. rekrul 7 Posted January 28, 2002 We had alot of trouble with this in 1.40 and 1.41 but haven't encountered it yet in 1.42 so they did atleast minimize the frequency of it. My biggest problem now is that I seem to recieve too few packets as when I'm sitting in the back of a vehicle like a fast moving jeep, this is particulary noticable.
