CANNOT PREVIEW SOME USER MADE MISSIONS

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Been having a small problem with editor, I normally make a mission in the editor, and save it as a usermade mission, not a single player mission, because I like to replay, and edit the mission some more.

Anyways I've made a lot of these type of missions, but now starting earlier this year, when I tried to access a mission I created a while back, like a monthe ago, or less, I load the island up, then the mission and when the mission shows up I get this warning:

Warning: File is read only!

Normally if you wanted to play mission based on the mod your playing with you would have to have all the addons present to play the mission, and if not a warning will show you whats missing, but it only does that for some of the missions now.

Anybody know how I can get my old missions back, and some arn't that old.  How do I make them not a read only file?

I tried going into user made missions, and on the mission go into properties, and uncheck the read only but it won't stay unchecked.

Right click the mission.sqm, open up properties and uncheck the "Read only" field. Should fix the problem I belive.

I went into my usermade folder, and went through the folders, most were missing the sqm, and the ones that did work had them but the read only box was unchecked.

The folders for the missions with the missing sqm's still load in the editor, but only show the warning.

So somehow only folders with just sqm's work.  Any ideas to where the sqm's could have went, or what could have possibly happened.  I must have about 60 or so folders, for some reason files arn't being saved, or am I missing something here.

Been playing ofp in this fashion since the game came out.

Well, if Tioner is correct, might be that you Windows thinks the files are "hidden" and due to your settings will not show them

A wierd problem though. crazy_o.gif

I once had a full folder and a couple of dozen addons go "missing" in my OFP folder, a couple of weeks later a found the "stuff" inside another folder which in turn was also inside myOFP folder! I deducted that i had inadvertadley in a split second some how dragged and dropped the folder and the addon's into another one! Now to cut a long story short beer was involved in this equation whistle.gif .Is their any chance that you to could have been having a couple of beer's one night and somehow (without realising) clicked on a few thing's without thinking, or put ticks on summat ya should'nt have put a tick in? I know it sounds a daft explanation but beleive me wierd stuff as happened to me the past with flashpoint when beer was involved!
