recoill 0 Posted September 8, 2006 Australian motor sport legend Peter Brock has died after his car hit a tree during a rally in Western Australia today. Brock was competing on the second day of the Targa West Rally when his Daytona Coupe hit a tree near the small community of Gidgegannup, about 40 kilometres east of Perth. Brock, 61, was killed and his co-driver Mick Hone was injured. Hone was later taken to Swan Districts Hospital where he was reported to be in a stable condition. Known as 'Peter Perfect' and the 'King of the Mountain', Brock won the Bathurst 1000 nine times in the 1970s and 80s RIP Brocky

ozanzac 0 Posted September 8, 2006 Not a good week at all. I'd met him, both in the pits, and off the track. A true blue, 'Peter Perfect', with a heart of gold. My family directly benefited from his foundation, in 2004, when my mother was fighting off Leukemia. Â His cars, in support of the leukemia foundation, provided the transport for mums 'good' days, when she was well enough to come home. Every inch of support, made all the difference, in aiding her recovery, and despite all the thrills he created on the track, it's his generosity, that, I'll never forget. Another sad loss.
