Silencer 0 Posted January 24, 2002 I heard from some people that OFP works well on crappy computers like mine which PII 449 mhz.I tryed lowering down almost everything, but I still get crappy frames... can sometell me which area should I drop in the settings? 2-bit texture? I use 450X250 resoltion with 2-bit texture, my FPS in multiplayer is barely 5.
FetishFool 0 Posted January 25, 2002 What Operating System are you using? If you're using anything other than WinXP, Win2000 or WinME, then you're using a crappy OS If you're using Linux, then thumbs up! Most old OS's eat up a lot of resources.
Wobble 1 Posted January 25, 2002 WinME is WORSE than 98.. because all its is is Win98 with a bunch of "multimedia" crap added to it.. no improvements.. just more shit.
4WDTaco 0 Posted January 25, 2002 I'm playing OFP w/a Win98SE 350Mhz P!!, 384Mb SDRam, and a 64Mb DDRam RADEON VIVO video card and everything seems to be working fine for me. I usually play with 1024x768@32bit but at times I like to go up to 1028x1024@32bit. I think what helps out is the hardware T&L on my vid card and I take off all shadows, other than that, everything else is maxed out graphics wise. Haven't tried online though but I do know that because of the large battlefields, etc... Â you need a FAST 'puter and a FAST connection. My 2 cents.
