icewindo 29 Posted June 29, 2006 Hi, i've been playing OFP for quite a time (Wel... since the demo :P), but recently my OFP ist crashing, especially in MP. I got no idea why and what's the problem, but i can play other games like a half day and there's no crash. I think it might be a problem with my AC-97 onboard soundcard, because often just a few seconds before OFP crashes and my PC automatically reboots, i hear the sound crackle, sounds really strange, like its downsampled. Well if anybody got an idea i would be glad do hear it .
JdB 151 Posted June 29, 2006 Search for "AC-97" from "The Beginning" in the forum's Search page and you will find many problems with the AC-97 chips. I'm sure one of those threads holds the answer to your problem
456820 0 Posted June 29, 2006 Try taking out the sound card or disabling it, then try. Note - Im not sure how easy it actually is to disable/take out a sound card so it may not be very (damn forgot the word - when something is a good idea or bad)

Placebo 31 Posted July 5, 2006 I'm guessing as with 94.7% of all owners of onboard AC97 soundcards you're using the drivers as provided by the motherboard manufacturer? From my experience you're better off using the drivers created by Realtek themselves. http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloa....re=True
