Trouble converting texture paths

Recommended Posts

I am currently trying to convert some texture paths on Bambi"s international spec ops soldiers ( I have permission) and I want to change the texture paths so my addon I am making can be compatible with people who still want to use the original Bambi Spec Ops soldiers but I am running into some trouble.

There are 10 p3d files in the original addon and I am able to open 3 of them with ODOLExplorer and convert them to MLOD format so that I can use the txtPathSwap. However, when I try and open the other p3d files I get two errors

rpos + relm < 0 !!!

and

error reading sel_vertex_count!

After these messages the models will load and everything looks fine except for there is only 1 LOD for 0.00.

Does anyone know how I can solve this problem?

I did a search and Cell7 stated that he solved this issue but he never said how, I sent him a PM but I thought I would ask here too incase someone else knew a solution

Thanks,

Ardvark

It's a "bug" in ODOL explorer. Occurs with only a few models. Don't think there's any way to solve this.

if you have the permission for them

ask for the mlod models directly smile_o.gif

converting odol to mlod is buggy

Yeah, I figured I'd have to contact the author. Not a big deal, I just didn't want to bother them too much.

Thanks for the replies, appreciate it

If you only want to retexture them, but don't want to change the model, you can take a Hex-Editor (or any editor that supports binary files) and make a simple search&replace on the textures you want to replace. (for ODOL-files, that is!wink_o.gif
