Second 0 Posted June 24, 2006 Games are fun. Being blown to bits because your character walks like a demented chicken without a head is not.EDIT: And the chicken's drunk, too. ANOTHER EDIT: He'd have experience moving around with a heavy pack, as well. Well yeah. If you think that game being fun, means that you don't have to think how you move, then you just have wrong way of seeing things (from my point of view). In real life you have to drop from running long before stopping. Simple as that (and still pretty good way to boost fun-factor). If you think that you don't have to think things so, then it is your fault that character is like drunken chicken. Experience don't make him to gain control of that heavy pack, he adjusts his movement by that pack (understanding that movement begomes glumsier). As you don't seem to do (which should be you job as you are his brains, Soldier doesn't know when to stop... you do). Should character then shoot too when target is in sights, even if you don't press fire-button. I just don't see your point. with f-key you can creep forward inch-by-inch. Don't run to that corner, stop early and then walk rest of it (that is my way of doing that). If that doen't help, then there is only one solution... get a new keyboard! Coffin Joe 0 Posted June 24, 2006 In real life you don't think "OK I need to start slowing down now so I can stop in the exact spot I want too...", you just stop where you want to. Unconsiously taking in account all the factors that effect your movement be it pack weight, terrain, weather(a wet muddy ground would be quite slipery, specially with a heavy pack. Want slipery ground surfaces when it rains in the game as well?) and then stoping where you want, without activly thinking about it. Sometimes developers put featurs in a game too try and make it feel more realistic but SOMETIMES those features backfire because they make you think about an action that in real life would be automatic. NeMeSiS 11 Posted June 24, 2006 All those people who say "you just need more practice", I've been playing OFP for several years now, and I still sometimes overshoot a building and get blown to bits by the tank waiting around the corner. What? The first time i played OFP it felt more natural then any game i had ever played, really, when i try to stop in real life it takes me almost the exact amount of time to stop when im jogging at the same speed, i cant magicly go from running to standing stil in < 0.1 sec, and i never walk past anything by accident because i stopped running to late...
