    I wonder if the ArmA engine could incorporate something like Euphoria(essentially an animation system with its own brain[a.i.]). With that you could have people stumbling or falling over from close explosions, intelligent ragdolls and probably quite a bit of other stuff(climbing over fences). GTA4 is using it. Yes I know, not the same type of game but its a pretty complex game and for it to be able to use the tech is very encouraging. Someone using the trial/learners version of Euphoria to speculate on what could be seen in GTA4... I hope we see more of it used in games. The system is amazing IMO.

    Forge :P And I'd really love to see ArmA2's editor be something like that. Able to fly around and plop a tank down or whatever. Isn't VBS2's editor something like that? Would be grand to be able to put in 2 AI armies and watch them go at it as I fly around looking at the battle unfold. But yeah I understand, new maps are great. Forge is just really really enjoyable for me.

    Downloadable content, as in something new like models or some such(not something like missions that are made with tools that already exist in the game) have to go through certification from Microsoft[even patches and updates]. I would assume Bohemia could pick some community made content and put it through the certification process, which would actually be really really cool but I doubt it would happen. Don't know if it would be possible to do what the community did with Elite. Using an Action Replay type thing to transfer the files. Edit: Actually, if Bohemia did that with community content it would really give them a lot of good press and make there game stand out quite a bit. Something like that hasn't been done yet for consoles and if they did they would essentially be breaking new, exciting ground in console gaming. Do it Bohemia! It would seriously get major coverage in gaming news. If you want your game to really stand out I think this would be the way to do it. Something no other console game has done before. Strike now before some other developer does it.

    If the smoke is generated by using the particles system like it was in OFP, there is no relation between the smoke column length and the limitations on model size. In OFP you could have smoke column that could be several hundred of meters in length. I think he is talking about the :smoke Stack: As in the big column (structure) towards the center of the picture. I think that is what he is talking about at least but I am not sure if it is a smoke stack or something else. I originally thought he said smoke too but I went back and looked. I actually never even noticed it there before he mentioned anything. Yeah he(and I) was talking about the physical smoke stack thats lined up with the APC on the left. Totally looks like the shadow is casting from it down through the smoke and over the APC. You can even see what looks like a lower res.(because its being cast so far?) shadow from the tower going over the APC right behind the turret, right in line with the smoke stack in the background. And speaking of columns of smoke, would be nice if those cast shadows too. I love lighting and shadows in games. :P

    Am I seeing shadows visibly pass through smoke in this shot? From that tower through the smoke, and onto the APC(?)? I like.

    As far as consoles go you have to get your game certified before being made. Sure buggy games get through but not to the degree of PC games.(I don't think[there are some bad ones...]) Though I fear it might go in that direction with the online capability of all the new systems. And judging by Elite no one should have any worries on control. One thing I'd like seeing made better(imo) is the analog movement with the left stick. PC games movement is of course done with keyboard. Modifier keys for slower walking/running.(digital) Aiming is with mouse.(analog) It felt like Bis essentially mapped wsad to the left stick with maybe a little blending between running/walking/creeping. Embrace the full analog movement of the left stick Bis! Either way I love Elite and still play it so I'm looking forward to '08

    Please take some shots at either dusk or dawn with some zombies lurching around. That would be excellent. And I saw a vid a while ago of a guy killing some zombies at night. They would just spawn and appear right in front of him. I don't know if it was this mod but if your zombies spawn would it be possible to make them rise up from the ground with a bit of 'dust' puffing about as they climb out of the earth? that would look quit cool I think. Much better than them just popping onto the map. I saw a vid of some RTS mod where bases/factories rose out of the ground when constructed and that made me think something like this could be possible. Man, now I'm imagining custom animations of one arm pushing up through the ground then the rest of him slowly clawing his way out.

    If they program it in, yes. In Far Cry you can share maps you've made I think. I'm trying to think of a few other examples(I know there are more) but nothing is coming to mind.

    Uh...I might be missing something but how is ArmA a console port?! Edit: Beated by about a thousand miles... Anyway so what would people like seeing in this game that isn't in ArmA or might not be in Game 2?

    Ha! My beautifully ugly little Elite uses version 2.(almost 3) Suck it console haters! (all in good fun, unlike some of you that bash consoles.) One of the things I'm hoping FP2 will have is superior(over OFP/ArmA) physics and I think that's pretty much guaranteed.

    You should go into stock trading as you seem to be able to predict the future (i couldn't let this one pass, an easy score:) In the world of consoles there are no exceptions. It's just a waste of time to play console games. If OFP2 is going to be constructed for consoles from the beginning, it's nothing that's worth playing! If this turns out good I will be very happy. And if that's the way smoke looks in the game, heaven.
