OUC 2.0

This topic is related to future Operation Urup Campaign 2.0, which is a different campaign than OUC 1.x.

OUC 2.0 will cover the years before the intervention on Urup Island. There are currently two finished missions, Brothers and The Forest which beta versions were presented in OUC 1.x thread. Now both are finished and available to download as single missions.

If you like really scary missions, switch off your lights, increase your sound volume and try "The Forest v1.0".

OUC 2.0 is a "work in progress" and any new idea or suggestion will be appreciated.

Just played The Forest, and thou I do not like any kind of horrors (I think it's stuff for kids) I did like it, did like it alot, and I really enjoyed playing it. You're helluva story teller, Mandoble! And your missions have that classical(BIS) 'smell', which I like it also.

Now that I'm properly scared I can go to sleep, it's another working day tommorow. goodnight.gif

Thanks Karantan. "The Forest" was not designed with "green bloody zombies" in mind tounge2.gif . BTW, the ghosts are not pinky, they are, or should look like, dark grey.

They were pinky on my monitor, and I have a good monitor; Sony G200 Trinitron Multiscan. I were that day out with my wife on the dinner, and I've drinked only two beers, I swear it tounge2.gif . But what all I was doing with OFP all that time I have it, it would be no wonder if the settings or whatever are somewhat messed up (thou all other things looks quite ok). So, it'll be nice if some one else confirm the color of those ghosts (if this is important to you).

One more thing; if I remember correctly, there were a telling inside the story that some intervention group had lately deal with those three woodcutters. Maybe you should change this; the player have a chance to kill them by himself.

As far as I know, there is no message indicating that some intervention group had lately deal with those three woodcutters.

If you mean "The final Army report", it said that an army patrol was attaked by woodcutters.  This Army patrol is "the player".

We can reach an agreement about the ghosts color, it is dark violet tounge2.gif

Even more frightening than previous version. Now the wolves are a real and dramatic danger wink_o.gif

More ruins, more effects, more ghost types and a far different way to flee from the southern forest.

Nice mission. Love the way you get dragged through the forest when the wolves attack.

One thing though, can you change the look of the ghosts? Being purple, they look more comical than scary.

Do you mean the color only, the shape, both? Actually the color is random, it may be just black or purpe.

V1.4 ready, now as full standalone single player mission:

The Forest v1.4

Changes:

- Full single player mission overview added.

- Identities added.

- Your guardpost is now a safe place, as long as you keep upstairs.

- Added three more automatic save points.

- Added three savegames triggered by player using radio.

- Wolves eyes colour changed (red or blue).

- More ammo clips added to the player.

- Ship collision less violent.

- Healing holy water fountain added somewhere.

- Few more details added to the intro.

- A new surprise added near the center of the forest.

- Included a readme file with short story background and more info.

Yes, but "The Forest 1.6" took too much time (as much time as expected for half of the full OUC 2.0 campaign) and the next mission is not finished yet.

By mistake I forgot to activate the outro in The Forest 1.6. More than probably an outro well worth to see.
