The-Architect 0 Posted March 9, 2006 Why is it that the textures I make always get ruined by the time they appear in game? I usually get them all the way into Tex view and then I convert them into PAC or PAA files. They look ok but in game they lose so much detail. I've seen some models with really nice looking textures. What do I need to do to get mine like those?
[aps]gnat 28 Posted March 9, 2006 Don't know but you will find many threads discussing Texture quality ingame vs O2 ....... can only suggest you read through and try some of the tips. ... like reduce TGAs to 256 colours and adjust Hue.
Student Pilot 0 Posted March 9, 2006 You might want to try PAA Tool, maybe it will give you better results. -Pilot
offtime 0 Posted March 9, 2006 if texture looks good after converting it to paa/pac format and in-game looks bad, then maybe your game settings are low ? just guessing...
jtec 0 Posted April 3, 2006 Depends also on the size of the area you are pasting the texture onto. Its just trial and error to get the right size texture.
sander 14 Posted April 5, 2006 Hi, In my experience it helps if the number of colours in the .TGA file is already reduced to 256 before conversion using texview. There is significantly less colour bleeding when such a file is saved as .PAA or .PAC. Regards, Sander
