Periscope help

Recommended Posts

I have made a search and found posts about the see through textures but none seem to help.  Im trying to get the standard m2a2 Bis periscope to see through my wall texture (paa) but have come up with nothing so far.

Hows it done?

Use:

Faces / Move to next alpha

Faces / Move to previous alpha

I don't know how it works exactly, just fiddle around a bit, you'll get it done this way.

so you select the face you dont want to see through the periscope and use Faces/ Move to next alpha? If so i have tried that and nothing has worked so far. My test texture is a paa with a alpha channel. Im guessing it needed to be a alpha channel.

Heres a pic of what i mean if a few people do not understand what im saying (always better with images)

peris.jpg

top picture is the original BIS periscope. Notice how some textures are see through

Bottom pic is the copy and paste i made of the original BIS periscopes notice how they dont see through the textures the original did.

Please could someone explain how i can do the same as picture one (make a periscope see thru textures)

Use TeRpEnTiN's way, thats how I did mine wink_o.gif

sometimes it wont show you if you did it right in buldozer you might need to zoom out or just see if it works ingame

and it only works with .paa textures

Thanks for your help so far guys wink_o.gif

what do i need to select and use faces -> move to next alpha?

The periscope model or the face with the .paa texture?

Also how do you know if its actually movin to next alpha as i cant see any information that is telling me that its actually moving to the next alpha?

just move to next alpha the face that has the .paa texture. You might need to do the same to the faces that you want to see thru.

There is no way to know its just trial and error
