Aeon 0 Posted February 24, 2006 When playing OFP campaign & mission (BIS), the only way to distinguish recorded radio messages from different units was to listen their callsign ("this is Alpha, blabla..."). Hopefully there were severals voice actors. I think it will sound better to mix some background noise in addition to radio white noise. Here's a little demonstration (Papa-Bear is HQ / Alpha is truck / Yankee is armored / November is helicopter / Thunder is plane) : - without background noise - with background noise
wolfbite 8 Posted March 1, 2006 That sounds well good .... maybe ifa unit is in a firefight and callin you you should be able to hear all the shots etc over the radio in real time.... so sometimes you would have to try an figure out what theyre saying over the backround noise. Leopardi 0 Posted March 17, 2006 It sounds so good, it is a must for Game 2! Please BIS, put this in, it adds atmosphere and gives you a better feeling youre there

Hmm.. I think that this is perhaps only doable for explosions / heavy vehicles.... to do this for every bullet is... impossible

It would be great to add it to missions already for OFP1

456820 0 Posted April 5, 2006 yeah very good idea. Think i might use that in some of my own radio sounds if you dont mind hopefully this is added it would be so good.
j w 0 Posted April 6, 2006 Sounds like a terrific idea, thouhg, maybe mics just take up the sound from very near (your mouth), so no background noise will be heard. Not that I know if this is true, I actually thinks that it should be some background noise.
456820 0 Posted April 7, 2006 well ive recently tried this idea in some of my missions and it truly does add so much extra atmosphere it makes you feel that the other squads are more life like and in trouble calling for support down the radio and maeks the battles appear much bigger then they actually are as it sounds theres more squads in the fire fight. This is a must have to be put into Game
