456820 0 Posted January 5, 2006 Hey would an analog (Game port) joysticks work for OFP ? Im looking for a long lasting joystick around 20Å that would work with OFP, and let you do the extra moves with planes and choppers Any suggestions ? Cheers Edit - Oh and how do you make your gunner taerget enemy tanks using a joystick
Student Pilot 0 Posted January 5, 2006 I would suggest a USB joystick if at all possible. Quote[/b] ]Oh and how do you make your gunner taerget enemy tanks using a joystick You should be able to assign the target command to a button on the joystick.

blackdog~ 0 Posted January 7, 2006 Yeah they do work in OFP. I had a setup with a throttle and F-15 lookalike joystick only a few days ago (put it up on the shelf though cos' it was cluttering up space). However, the support for these older gameport joysticks is very limited and the microsoft joystick control panel is an absolute pain in the ass to configure... I only had about 4-5 of the 20 buttons on the joystick and the POV hat did not work (rather it toggled the fire button on and off, which was quite inconvenient)... so the verdict: Do yourself a favor and just go USB. 456820 0 Posted January 7, 2006 cool ive got a joystick now and its great but how do i slow down the speed of it in ofp im wizzing all overthe place and finding it hard to control but im getting better also how do i set options on just the joystick ? instead of the keyboard aswell edit - how do you go up and down on the joystick ? as in rise your alt or go down i can start the rotors using the buttons ive assigned but then it wont listen to me to go up nor down so its hard to do a nice quick landing unless i use the keyboard Also i get an adapter to plug my joystick into the house mains i plug the usb into the comp then the plug into my mains i dont notice any difference ? BlackScorpion 0 Posted January 7, 2006 Slow down speed on what? Choppers? Pull back the stick. Planes? Decrease (pull back) the throttle. Atleast on my stick, chopper altitude is bound on throttle stick. When I pull it back, chopper starts to increase altitude, and vice versa.
