crashdome 3 Posted December 23, 2005 Never understood why IRC and diabloesque grinding was such an addictive combination.. tried WoW and I still do'nt. Same reason why MTV is so popular. It's not the games. Those games were created because they were demanded to be made. I say give em their cake and let them eat it too. More beef/vegetables/pie for me then. Espectro (DayZ) 0 Posted December 23, 2005 I ...but i think most of the people around here are grown up at least mentally ) Thats rude, I am here since 2001 and I expect you to know me better. If you werent capable to learn to know me yet then I dont know whether friendship is the right word for us two. So boy, you better learn it: I am far from being a mental grown up. I am mentally retired: always late to reply, always the last to know, all the time misinformed and majorly superficial! i concur
kavoven 4 Posted December 23, 2005 Yeah, tell me about it. I've never played WoW myself, but I've heard quite a lot, as I've got atleast few friends who have it. And there has been atleast 2 fatal cases, in the news, due to continuous gaming. There is in my opinion one point, which makes you to play WoW on and on: At the beginning, you can level really fast, I made it to lvl 20 in two days(well, 24 hours playing ^^). You always say: I just wanna make this quest, Just wanna reach the next lvl Just wanna get this weapon... This really continues. There is a large world which has to be explored, and it's always "I just want to..." The leveling becomes harder in the higher areas, and at a certain point, I lost my interess in it and explored the world... But it's hard not to get in the influence of this "I just wanna..." thing. BlackScorpion 0 Posted December 23, 2005 I've got few friends who reached 60 and started all over again. I've also heard that some fellas (americans propably) have hired e.g. Chinese people to play on their account! So that they can theoretically play 24/7! So that they can theoretically play 24/7! Yeah, those chinese appareantly have working days consisting of killing stuff... very interesting to get paid for that... in a videogame. Either way, I also have known some MMORPG addicts myself, Pontifex some of you may know, and two others you wont. Either way, SWG and WoW really ripped us apart, a real pity. Last time I talked to one of them they really seemed depressed too... méh .
