Mccallum1992 0 Posted December 3, 2005 I was wondering, because BIS and Codemasters have fallen out, if BIS was to make a game with a title that has nothing to do with opflash (e.g Bad war 1 ) Would they be able to put the characters in, like guba, David, Victor, e.c.t. Who actually owns the characters, if anybody does?
Colossus 2 Posted December 4, 2005 I think CM only owns the "Operation Flashpoint" name. Malden, Everon, etc. etc. belongs to BIS.
xawery 0 Posted December 4, 2005 What about Guba then? I doubt CM would be too happy about one of their head honcho's face being used for the bad guy, especially if they are no longer affiliated with ArmA.
LoTekK 0 Posted December 4, 2005 I would think (and of course could be wrong) that CM owns the trademark "Operation Flashpoint", but BI owns the associated IP.

The press report says the new campaign will be set in a modern day conflict - I doubt the Soviet director of Codemasters will still be around.
