Messiah 2 Posted October 24, 2005 ok... i've got my boat, and when it sits in the water is has a tendancy to fill with water... which i'd expect with the flashy engine. Now, i've moved the land contact down and it sits nicely on top of the surface of the water, untill the water rises - then for some reason the boat doesnt follow the rising water... my boat seems to bob up and down alot more than the pbr or boat which came with the game, and im wondering how to stop mine being so leaky also, how do i make it more manourable? at the moment it has an awful turning circle, when it should be pretty nippy and turning and accelerating (which is slow too)
philcommando 0 Posted October 24, 2005 l_/ l_l<--------depth above water - 2 box square/2m l_l<--------depth below water/0 axis - " " you will need a clearance height of 1 ~ 2 metres above 0 axis for your interior floorboard where ofp engine recognises flat level, otherwise water will flood in. The reason for the 2 m depth below 0 axis is so that when the boat speeds at around 75km/hr and above, it has a tendercy to float up, so the keel would not be seen to be floating above water. Manoverability:- lies in the config:- turn radius = set to 1m Bobbing up and down:- dependent on your geometry and where the centre of gravity lies at. Try to concentrate it to the front and bring it to its lowest. The keel geolod should be flat and not like a curved boat. Hope it helps
Messiah 2 Posted October 24, 2005 problem with the type of boat im making is that its interior is the same shape and depth (nearly) as the exterior - much like a zodiac... so removing the flodding may be a little hard it seems cheers for the turning thing - shall ammend that now the geo lod is flat keel, i guess it just needs the weight further down
csj 0 Posted October 25, 2005 another trick, if possible with your model, is to raise the deck in the "cargoview". Atleast this way you won't see water whilst you are in the boat.
