Your site needs way more content and quality than just everything "under construction" and spam like this second thread.

Anyway I don't understand why it's needed to decentralize OFPEC as the place for the editing community. Can't you just support them, instead of trying to duplicate their site?

Also what publicity do you think you'll achieve, when the leader asks anyone to build a whole mission (4th of July) for him, just because he doesn't want to read/learn all the already available tutorials (at OFPEC) himself?

I don't think OFPEC risks to loose it's supremacy.....

It's just another site where you can post ideas and searching for answers.

I agree with you about that asking someone else to make a mission is a bad idea, but all the staff members of this site are already OPFEC members and they're learning the tricks of the trade....

I have to agree with Klavan on this one. If the community grows, it's good for everyone (including Ofpec). I am currently a member of at least four editing related forums. I cannot see how that would hurt anybody.

But I do think this post belongs under squads and fan pages

Although every opinion is accepted providing it's not really mean. . About my site being new, the link you have provided was my old free webs link. Now the site is all paid for and not free anymore. Klavan is right on his opinion, I'm not trying to steal anything from OFPEC, I've posted threads on their forums indicating that I have a new site and it doesn't seem to bother anybody. But if it bothers people, I'm sorry it's not my problem. You may be apart of my site or you may not it's your choice.

What I wish to achieve when making this site? well I would love to help out the OFP community for a different atmosphere of a site. To have the OFP community be able to go somewhre else if they would like. Also new experiences are good in our world today. This will hopefully be more in the future, but it needs to go and mature. whether if that's through more content on the page and more editing help, then so be it.

Now about my Fourth of July project. Honestly man, would you ask somebody for help if you had huge project idea and you had no clue how to make it and it would take you until the 4th of July or later to learn it all? I believe it's a right thing to do. I appreciate your reply and your opinions are always accepted. Thanks.

Please dont dunk trapper for his opinion, he's intitled to one. Although there is a such thing as respect and disrespect. Please let us know if were using it or not OFP community.

Yes, I'm rude klavan, because (someone tell me if I'm wrong) for me it has to look like Ranger99 is a new/second account, only created to annouce an existing page as "new" a second time.

Why wasn't the first post updated for this?

I just can't aquire a taste for searching more and more boards and confusing people new to the scene, if all the answers&people could be located at one board.

The community isn't that big anymore and IMHO this will result in:

-more complicated searches for help

-everywhere it's needed to create a new account

-"experts" scattered all around the different boards, resulting in less chances to get their help.

-trouble because of "copyright" discussions about resources

-all the administrators multiplying their work with own projects, instead of working together, to reduce the work for an existing project

-over time administrators with too much work will quit

I admit I was wrong, about the 4th of July project.

There is no reason that you, the initiator of a new editing site, has to be Mr. OFPEditing himself. Much more important is, that you're able to maintain the community platform you want to create.

And for now it looks promising, even if I don't like the idea of another editing page.

I think it is fabulous that someone feels so committed to OFP that they would like to start and run a new site and cannot imagine that anyone would be offended by it.  However, I am with Trapper on this.  In the early days the community was so full of sites that it was very difficult to sift the gems from all the crap.  Now the landscape is much clearer, all the crap has gone and what is left are the gems.

The energy you are putting into the site could be perhaps better used to serve the community by helping to support what is already there.  Or…

No I would not.  I would learn it and do it myself, in fact I just have.  If you did that you would be creating a good mission for the community and at the same time you would be putting yourself into a position of being able to help and advise others.  Also it would be fun.  It is easy to have ideas – the real challenge is to give those ideas life within the constraints of OFP.  Well,  that’s what I think anyway.

My experience is that all sites develop their own characters, and the levels of welcoming/friendliness/respect vary a lot from site to site.  I personally have not found any site that even comes close to ofpec on this, let alone that they have tonnes of valuable resources freely available they are also friendly welcoming and helpful.  I didn’t see anything disrespectful in Trapper’s comments anyway.

I wish you good luck with the site, but I can’t help feeling that in the long run you would get more fun and satisfaction out of making your mission.

the fact that this game is five ?, years old and your making a new website ,is fantastic ,just goes to show that this game will never die. keep up with your enthusiasm.as for the negative comments,well along with stupid ai , you just gotta put up with em i am afraid

Thank you for you're reply. Yes it is amazing that I created this site. Before I had another site like this, but it was with another friend, which he is apart of our forums now. He started that one, and I started this one. This site does look promising. I hope all of the members of my team stay intersted and any time they feel the need to change something they need to ask or inform me.

About my fourth of July project. Yes it would be awesome if I could create it my self, but I'de have to learn scripting, and right now I'm just in the beginning phase of it, the intro. I dont really know much. So like if you wer to ask me how to make a simple car explode, I could probably do that with a really easy script, using the "SetDammage" code. But other then using those kinds of codes, I'm scripting illiterate.

Yes it is so cool that OFP is this old, and it's still new in a way. Now we have 2 more games coming out for OFP and that should hopefully make it grow more then it is now.

Lets give a cheer to everybody in the OFP Community to making this all possible...
