The-Architect 0 Posted June 6, 2005 After much fixing, testing and fixing, Deep Water is finally ready for release. I could write pages of stuff describing what's included in the mission but I'll just give you the link to the Deep Water Webpage instead. http://www.freewebs.com/thekillingground/index.htm
redface 1 Posted June 6, 2005 I noticed the picture "Everon Tourist Board - Visit Saint Pierre" on your site that's my kind of humour, so I'll check this one out as soon as I can.
HOBOMAN 0 Posted June 7, 2005 I like the mission but I ask one question. Why does the team bail out of the boat in freeze cold water and not just drive to shore? Those boats can't be detected that easliy on radar and you can throw a camo net on it to hide in on shore.
The-Architect 0 Posted June 7, 2005 For me, the logical insertion point was the Jetty between the lighthouse and Saint Pierre. Taking a boat in so close would run the risk of compramise. I guess that the last kilometer could be done with oars but I'm not that good at scripting. Plus I wanted a sense of the whole insertion part of the mission for those who didn't choose to skip the swim. Good question though. I hope I answered it adequately. Commando84 0 Posted June 7, 2005 cool mission! i liked it very much  this would be cool to play with my friends in coop mode  is it possible to modify to allow for some of the seals to be playables? So there won't ahppen any bad things with scripts or so
The-Architect 0 Posted June 7, 2005 Unfortunatley MP is something I've never learned. I think I'd really struggle with the shift. I've heard too many horror stories about MP, no intros, funky script problems etc. I wouldn't want to try it in case it became too much of a mammoth task. Commando84 0 Posted June 7, 2005 yeah intro stuff can be way different in mp , but im trying to see if i can get your mission in mp myself and report back how it works out  *edit* things got messed up really bad, the diver suits didn't work out as planned somehow,i guess i need a special script for it or something just drowned but i remember i made it work once in mp but it was a long time ago i don't remember what i did exactly to get it working thouhg.. bonko the sane 2 Posted June 8, 2005 this last version is very good, congratulations p.s: everything worked fine, except that in win outro i got an error:missing script, but i was running flashFX, that might be the cause.
The-Architect 0 Posted June 8, 2005 Yeah, the readme says that its not compatible with all the mods. They usually contain at least one script that conflicts with my work. No worries thouh, at least it wasn't a major fcuk up.
Soldat32 0 Posted June 8, 2005 Very good mission but fo some reason near its end I couldnt get back on the Zodiacs no matter what I tried. When I tried to call in the Seahawk my man with radio was dead so it told me to head for the boats instead. All in all great mission though.Big thumbs up. Pappy Boyington 0 Posted June 12, 2005 Yeah, the readme says that its not compatible with all the mods. They usually contain at least one script that conflicts with my work. No worries thouh, at least it wasn't a major fcuk up. yea running Y2K3 i got buccoup missing addons errors for the intro and outtro. after an hour of adding in addons to the "Addons required" thing all was well playwise
The-Architect 0 Posted June 12, 2005 The addons required bit? What are you on about?
Pappy Boyington 0 Posted June 14, 2005 yea i had to edit the mission sqm file in the intro part and the mission part cuz after about 10 trys.. each time resulting in "missing addon: blah" each time a new addon not listed in the "addons required" list in the sqm... after i finnaly got the list completed and i got no more errors. it was perfectly playable in Y2K3
gehummel 0 Posted June 14, 2005 mmm i doesn't seem to run properly The intro is very cool, but with all the addons, tis says: mission cannot loaded (or something) missing addons: Spec_diver and spec_diverb
The-Architect 0 Posted June 14, 2005 Quote[/b] ]tis says: mission cannot loaded (or something) missing addons: Spec_diver and spec_diverb In the readme and on the website it says that you have to download the extra addons which are needed to make the SEALs work. They are on the same page as the SEAL addon just underneath. Try that.
gehummel 0 Posted June 14, 2005 I'm sorry it seems to work now, really great mission. BTW i am really bad with addons, I allways screw it, but I just love the game
The-Architect 0 Posted June 18, 2005 If you havn't downloaded this yet do so. It's by far my best work yet. I notified Ofp.info and Ofpec.com that it is out and ready to go but neither put the news up. I guess that's life.
HOBOMAN 0 Posted June 20, 2005 If you havn't downloaded this yet do so. It's by far my best work yet. I notified Ofp.info and Ofpec.com that it is out and ready to go but neither put the news up. I guess that's life. Â Well, the truth is nobody really values missions. They just want more addons and mods... What the community needs is more missions and campaigns for the new addons. A mod is fun to play with for about 20 in the editor but is even better when it has an excellent campaign. Anyways good job with the mission.
