miss_cleo 0 Posted June 2, 2005 does anyone know of a source, or would possibly be willing to donate their own, Photshop files of uniform creases, fabric textures and the like? There are alot of tutorials and resources for vehicle texturing, but not many for soldier modeling
wipman 1 Posted June 2, 2005 Hi, i think that that'll be a good idea; that'll help in many ways. Beginning for the addon makers, they'll have a good source from where download the textures that they could need; that also will help to almost make a kind of standard (in the look like) of the units, no more 4000 diferent Marpat, woodland, desert camo patterns for uniforms; same with helmets texture, ammo pouches or any other thing that the addon units may need. Those soldiers & reservists that have uniforms in home could take they'r digital cameras, wait for the good day time and then take some photos of they'r equipment in a way that that texture could be easy resized and afther that... map it over a unit model. That'll be a good idea; but the people it's too greedy. Let's cu
miss_cleo 0 Posted June 2, 2005 that would be a good idea too... iw as looking more for a semi-transparent layer i could put over a sample of camoflage, to give it a cloth like appearance.
Ironsight 1 Posted June 2, 2005 iw as looking more for a semi-transparent layer i could put over a sample of camoflage, to give it a cloth like appearance. I believe there are some textures and actions for clothing included with PSP9 so it would be likely that it would also be included with Photoshop or any other program

I have recently upgraded and haven't found anything like that. Still, I may have not looked hard enough.
miss_cleo 0 Posted June 2, 2005 the best i can find in photoshop is a sort of burlap texture. When i look at other peoples textures, it is apparent that addon-makers must be using some kind of template... take HYKs textures for example... the camo pattern appears to be hand made and the folds, shadows and other variations are in the same place for all patterns, woodland, desert, etc.

Try to learn drawing rather than depend on textures-to-go. It is time consuming but it's worth it. That's the difference between artists and regular addon makers. sander 14 Posted June 3, 2005 Hi For wrinkle effects see the templates on this Ghost Recon Skin tutorial. These can be adapted to the OFP textures by cutting pasting and distorting where appropriate. One of the best sites to get large and clear images to base camouflage backgrounds on is Henrik Clausen's camouflage site, other useful sites can be found through its links page. It is often best to use a picture of the back of a camouflage jacket, as the pattern is usually best visible there, uncluttered by pockets and such. It usually takes some cutting, copying and pasting to reconstruct a pattern and compensate for the creasing on photographs. The LLW International Infantry 2 will be released with templates, patterns and a tutorial. Regards, Sander
